Maybe it's just the irrational dislike I have for the Steelers, but, part of me thinks Tomlin loves that stuff. Either way, good coach, good team, good organization. I wish the Bengals had 25% of Pittsburgh's success. Joey Porter on the hand, is a clown and has been so for many years.

Good post. Doesn't it always seem like Ben has all day to throw against Cincinnati? Especially at PBS?
-
Don't get me wrong - Bengals have a clown too. I actually hope they sit Eifert this week. I know that no wins in the NFL are guaranteed, but I'd rather he sit and get right for Denver.
-
He's a clown! Notice how he got up and struck a ridiculous pose after hit, not realizing that Eifert held on to the ball?

I miss the days of 16 teams in each of four classes in the playoffs, but, that's just me. In some ways, having six classes has helped some schools with scheduling, because it bakes in an extra game, but, I still think it's too many classes. Among other things, the first round games are typically ridiculous. I know there are exceptions and I know there are counter points to my view. Just an opinion.
-
Is it true that the 6 class system was implemented, in part, as a compromise to address the movement to separate public schools and private schools, or is that urban legend?
-
Too many classes for a state of this population, but, no way the toothpaste gets back in the tube. Congrats to all of the state championship participants.

A little off topic, but the Crazies contribute to a great atmosphere at home and often on the road. The atmosphere at last week's CCH/Cooper game was spectacular. I find that in many cases, the Crazies motivate the opposing student section to "up" their game. When the big Cooper student fan ripped off his shirt ala the designated "Sumo Crazy", I lost it. That was awesome. Again, off topic I know, but the Crazies really help make the games fun. Kudos to the Cooper kids too - they were fantastic.

H That's fair. I don't disagree that it can be an intimidating situation. However, so could screaming and yelling behind a basket on foul shots. I will also reiterate that first and foremost, player safety is critical. As long as that is maintained, I think high school students should be aloud to try to "get in the head" of the opposition.

The rocks were one contested layup away from going home with a loss. Take your win and move on. -

JV update/final? -
No I don't, but very impressed by how hard the kids play for him and how he runs the team.

Very cool Ludlow - first class and good luck the rest of the way. -
My personal opinion is the Highlands/CCH rivalry will pick up again very soon, but it has nothing to do with a blowhard CCH dad from a summer hoops game. I think it stems from Kevin Listerman's coaching acumen and the talent coming up in Ft. Thomas. On top of that Coach L has a giant, Colonel sized chip on his shoulder, relating to certain family matters. If anyone doesn't think that is a motivator, you're flat wrong. The future should be fun to watch.

So the basketball rivalry's renewed intensity stems from an obnoxious Cov Cath dad/child at a summer hoops game and last night's football result was some karma related payback? There seems to be an obvious counterpoint to this: some need to take the regional championship win from last night and move on, instead of calling out old dudes in knothole jackets and some blowhard at a summer basketball game. Just sayin.

Highlands was turnover free in both games vs CCH this year. That is a key ingredient to winning football. Hats off to 'em - they absolutely deserved to win. -
Is CovCath/Highlands still a major KY rivalry?

I posed the question on the Highlands basketball thread.
