  1. 7 first half possessions 6 TDs 1st drive ended with an INT 2nd drive 4 plays TD 3rd drive 10 plays TD 4th drive 3 plays TD 5th drive 4 plays TD 6th drive 4 plays TD 7th drive 1 play TD Frankfort has speed at the skill spots, no size up front. That is why you saw more Power I and I 2 tight sets. Beechwood also ran a bunch of it against NCC the last game of the season in the rain, and ran for over 300 yards on NCC
  2. If leading 47-0 at half time and never punting, and holding Frankfort to 7 yards of offense in the first half, is rusty, then I'd hate to see what clicking would look like.
  3. 3A school based on what, your opinion, or facts? Here is a fact, Beechwood's enrollment for boys at the last realignment, put them as a 1A school. They are playing where the state says they should be playing. When the next realignment comes out, maybe Beechwood will be 2A, but they are nowhere close to being a 3A school.
  4. If this was for great conversation "between both the east and west side of the state to comment on" .. then you would have titled it with something other than "Should we just go ahead and mail Beechwood the 1A trophy?" I have not heard one person in the state ... from multiple media outlets, messageboards, etc that has stated anything similar to "go ahead and mail Beechwood the 1A Trophy". (Other than you). I know of at least 3 other transfers for Hazard (I have seen you comment on them on other message boards as well ... so lets not play dumb). Hazard has more starters returning ... at least 4 transfers ... and lost the state championship by 7 points (and had chances to win). At the very least ... that makes them equal or possibly ahead. Not to mention ... Paintsville, Kentucky Country Day (who is flying WAY TOO LOW under the radar) are all good enough to win. If you are looking for good conversation about Beechwood and Hazard ... maybe go about it in a way that doesn't paint Hazard as the victim. You are not going to get anyone from Beechwood (or anyone who follows football in this state) to disrespect Hazard. Not to mention .... Beechwood plays them one game at a time. If they are fortunate enough to get to Hazard ... it will be worried about then. On the other hand ... if Hazard is already stacking those chips on their shoulders about Beechwood ... then good for them. So ... good luck with your intended purpose for this thread .... I hope you find what you are looking for.
  5. The whine is the basic/normal sound of a transmission/gearbox downshifting ... pretty similar to what I hear in my Mustang (not so high pitched). It looks like Lewis had 8 forward drive gears ... he also has reverse. Most of the F1 guys are usually running 7 speeds plus reverse. There is a great in-car from Monaco (should be on youtube) or Senna and Hamilton in a side by side in car shot driving through the municipality. The differences between then and now are amazing. Senna is taking one hand off the wheel to shift driving at a torrid pace on city streets ... while Hamilton looks nearly as busy shifting with paddle shifters. Both look extremely challenging ... but seeing Senna pull his hand off the wheel to shift with an "old school" shifter is pretty amazing.
  6. The Senna documentary is exceptional .... in my opinion ... one of the best sports documentaries ever created. It is basically the gateway to the modern era ... but more importantly ... it sheds light on one of the most tragic, foreboding weekends in sports history.
  7. No offense ... but I think everyone who has been around for a while knows what you are trying to do. There hasn't been one person on this board who has disrespected Hazard ... or made Beechwood an overwhelming favorite. From where I sit ... Hazard has more starters coming back than Beechwood (3 or 4 on each side of the ball if I remember correctly). Not to mention ... how many transfers has Hazard gotten this year? 3 ... 4 ... 5? Nice try ... but anyone who actually looks at the matchups knows that Hazard is equal ... and with the transfers should probably be ranked ahead. I find it hilarious that you always try to drum up this type of stuff. You lost by 7 points and you have more people coming back than Beechwood. You can bet your Daddy's coal mine that Beechwood isn't sitting back waiting for any trophy in the mail. They are doing the same things that they always do .... working hard ... trying to get better everyday. The Bac "chip on the shoulder" thing is getting old.
  8. Racing has been in the blood of our family since inception (from dirt ... to Nascar, etc) A few thoughts/suggestions ... *Watch the documentary Senna (or at the very least ... read/find as much information about the weekend that he died as you can--there is literally too much to read)--that weekend is a journey in pure misery--but it had a large impact as to where things are now (safety, Michael Schumacher's role, Prost, etc). The actual documentary is probably the best racing documentary out there. *It took me a LONG time to really enjoy it ... (coming from a NASCAR background--where the cars are supposed to be the same--so it is a true test of who is the best driver) .. remember--F1 is about the team. They can spend just about as much as they want and a great team updates their cars, aerodynamics, chassis, etc on a race to race basis. With that said ... *Knock out qualifying is usually the most exciting aspect of a race weekend (it has gotten to the point where there is very little overtaking for the lead or the top 5 spots--so qualifying plays a huge role in a race weekend). *On the F1 website ... they have a great section which explains the most important aspects ... ie: the steering wheel (each one costs around $75,000 a piece .. and that was a few years ago). Parc Fermme, overtaking, aerodynamics, etc ... its worth a few hours. *Also on the F1 website ... pay the 2.99 a month for the unlimited timing/scoring app. Its a little better than raceview for Nascar ... you get a ton of data ... timing, tires, the scanner feeds from the drivers, a cool real time graphical representation of the cars on the track ... really cool to follow along with the race. *The history of the series is exceptional ... and it can keep you busy for a long time. *If you ever get a chance to go ... DO IT. The only race in the USA is in Texas ... but it is worth the trip (I went when F1 was in Indianapolis ... wow!) I know what you mean with Vettel ... but I have softened up on him a little (honestly ... because of the impressions he does of Kimi ... he is pretty freaking funny). Some of the guys in the middle/back of the back are pretty cool as well. Alonzo is a cool cat ... I also like Romain Grosjean and Valttieri Bottas. Hamilton is my guy .... he respects the history of the series ... and is a pretty classy guy to meet in person (Not to mention ... he came over a few years ago to Jeff Gordon's final race as a show of respect. Either way ... do some looking into Senna ... as the famous F1 commentator Murray Walker said ... "he believed that he had a God-given right to win" ... not to mention .. his foundation has raised upward of 500 million dollars since his death for the people of Brazil. Good stuff ...
  9. Absolutely! I have been a big Lewis Hamilton and Kimi Raikkonen fan for a long time. I originally started watching in the late 80s as an Ayrton Senna fan.
  10. Good work by Coach Rash and staff .... Big corrections ... career record = 123 - 33 (definitely not 88!)
  11. I appreciate the lesson .... I am so used to the right complaining about Hillary ... I assumed I had a clue. My fault ... my apologies. (Thats a real apology). With that said ... I think it pretty freaking sad that she was that surprised that her husband won. And it speaks volumes about the disconnect that Republicans refuse to acknowledge. I think Mrs. Obama probably saw the world from a much different perspective than I do. I think people of color (especially her husband ... who was the target of more racial crap than anyone I can ever remember hearing about in my life time of 40+ years) are generally still surprised when huge socio-political breakthroughs are made. With that said ... I think it is something that she probably should have put a ton more of thought into before saying (or made sure she explained it ... which you say above had not been done ... but if she did not so much of a big deal ... if she didn't I think its a wreckless statement). For the record ... the Presidential election ... (and every other election) IS a competition whether you see it that way or not. There is a winner and a loser. Your willingness to point out statements made by our former first lady makes it hard for me to believe that you see it differently. Are you or are you not a Trump supporter (again ... my apologies for assuming--but based on your previous comments ... I thought it was a safe bet). What I won't apologize for ... is pointing out the complete lack of accountability for President -- and the fact that Republicans constantly point out people like Hillary ... or in this case Mrs. Obama and the things that they say and do. You are more than willing to crucify Hillary ... and in this case Mrs. Obama ... but you won't call out a President who constantly degrades women, men, black, white, democrat, republican. Again .. it doesn't get more hypocritical than that. By always pointing to someone else .. or something else when the President is called out for his lies, behavior towards women/other human beings, etc ... it proves that either republicans think they are above the basic rules of treating others how they want to be treated ... or they just flat out don't care about the opinions of anyone other than themselves. For me ... if this President would say something along the lines of "I have said and done some really stupid things ... I have treated people badly ... I was wrong" ... I would immediately shift my mind back into neutral ... and would keep an open mind. And you know what ... a ton of Americans would do the same thing (I truly believe that American people have an innate ability to give 2nd chances that others can't or won't do). What I am not going to do ... is make a personal choice to follow (or support anyone who follows) a leader who lies constantly, blames his shortcomings on others, treats women like complete crap, alienates minorities, whines and complains about the person he BEAT in the election. How can you guys support that? Seriously? I will end with this ... regardless of what Hillary ... or Michelle Obama or anyone else says ... (coming from someone who works in really big business and has traveled extensively) ... America is the gold standard. Having a President (and supporters) who campaigned on "Make America Great Again" makes me wonder what in the freaking world are you guys talking about ... and thinking about? If America was so freaking horrible ... you guys are the ones who should have left ... or at least ... jumped into that imaginary swamp you guys keep talking about. Of course America can be better ... but it is an absolute joke and INSULT to this country for people to listen to any politician and his followers talking about making this country great again (more proof that our President and his sheep are out of touch with reality ... all they had to do is make the slogan "Make America BETTER"). That probably makes a little too much sense for the right side to make heads or tails out of.
  12. I was thinking more like Rupert Murdoch ....
  13. Hold on a minute ... did you really just judge the greatness of this country based on what Hillary Clinton said? I may be a Democrat ... but lets call it what it is ... one of the dumber things she has ever said (I trust you that she said it ... even though I have never seen it). The only thing worse is that you are willing to come onto the internet and act like that is some kind of talking point against Democrats. Here is how it is really done: one of the reasons why America is great ... is the way that GW Bush rallied this country together after 9/11. See there? I am not even a freaking republican ... and I can come up with something that speaks to our greatness ... led by a politician from a different party. I didn't need to dwell on the negative to do it either. (Which is another reason why America is great!) Is that really all Republicans have left? If that is truly what you think ... and more importantly .. you are willing to put that on the internet to be preserved for eternity ... good grief the right has completely lost all perception of reality. I have never seen a group of people who refuse to address the reality of today more than the group of people who support this President. Hillary? You mean the former first lady that lost the election? The ones that republicans bring up whenever they can't explain why their President constantly lies and insults people (including members of his own party and cabinet?). Here is a hint ... you WON! It's time that republicans quit whining about the person that they beat .. and get something done. But most importantly ... it is time that republicans hold their President up to the same standard that they hold the LOSER of the election to. I think it is time that anyone who supports this President ... looks up the word accountability. You WON the election ... yet you continue to talk about the loser. More fake news to distract America from the fact that Republicans are complete hypocrites.
  14. Hold up ... so NOW ... American business persons shouldn't buy businesses which help GROW our economy? Isn't that the platform that your President said he was all for? Are you seriously complaining about an American shelling out his money to buy an American business? Really? Seriously? So let me get this straight ... you can now officially only be a republican to buy the Washington Post. Starting to sound a little fishy to me. There are a lot of "not so great" people who do good for this country by buying companies which keep this economy going (for instance: Donald "I constantly file bankrupcy on American banks now they won't lend me money" Trump) ... should they quit doing that? Isn't that what will "Make America Great Again"? (Pretty sure that anyone that campaigned on this premise is clueless ... because America has been/is/and will always be great ... yet you guys support someone who continues to act like it isn't.
  15. When the President quits lying every single day ... quits insulting hard working Americans everyday and quits being an absolute tyrant ... and the news media still writes about him ... you have my word ... I will come on to this board and apologize and write a nice poem about how wrong I was/am/will be in the future. Please feel free to hold me to that.
  16. Do you honestly believe that Jeff Bezos actually calls the Washington Post everyday and tells them to go after your President? Seriously? Jeff is a real business man ... he doesn't sit around and watch Fox News all morning. If what this President was doing so many great things for business and growing the economy ... I can assure you that Jeff is doing what he has always done on a day to day business ... you know .. actually running a business as opposed to selling his name? As I said last week ... the only thing scarier than the President is the people that support him and the lengths that they will go to distribute his lies and fake news. One thing that you guys seem to never understand (and this is why it is scary) is that if your President would quit running his mouth and insulting people, lying every single day ... then there would be no news!! No rocket science there at all!!
  17. Here is an idea .... If your President doesn't like the news ..... Maybe he should quit making it on a second by second basis. Oh ... that's right ... fake news!
  18. Yeah--how many tuition kids have been in the program over the past 15 years? I would be willing to bet that the number is so low that you would try to question the validity. The truth of the matter is that for a LONG time--football players have had to pass the same extremely difficult academic viability test that everyone else has (on average there has been less than 2 kids who have joined the football program as tuition students). There has been NO leeway at all. The old way has been over for years (since at least 2001 and more likely earlier). The truth of the matter is you better be one heck of a student if you are out of district (whether you play any sport or not). So you can have an average of 2 a year (and it is actually less than 2 but I did you a favor and rounded up). It certainly isn't an influential number that makes or breaks the program.
  19. Trust me, I know what you mean! But it makes sense to me and a "few" others. Too bad this forum doesn't have a "I like to sound confusing but a lot of people get it" forum. Sorry about that!
  20. I put some thought into the post before I made it. I understand your point and you are probably right. It is important to note that the first post of this thread points out some interesting "changes" that just seemed to disappear from conversation. I agree that that does not make my point any more valid. However, someone pointed something out that needs discussion and this was my way of letting that person know that others know what is up.
  21. What I don't understand ... and I know the right handed folks here won't step up to the plate and help me understand is this thought: *There is a commission which just so happens to be investigating voter fraud ... because our President seems to think that there were millions of illegal voters because he lost the popular vote (which again means absolutely nothing since he easily won the vote that counts ... you know ... the electoral college). *This commission wants information regarding voters .... uploaded to an shoddily protected website ... where info can easily be stolen. *The current President is insistent that millions of illegal voters took part in the election to vote for someone other than himself. What I don't get ... for someone so freaking paranoid about an election (where he WON) ... why in the world would his son, his most important aid and leader of his election campaign take a meeting with someone from a "Non-Ally" country to dish up dirt on his opponent (right in the middle of the campaign)? You are trying to get dirt on your opponent .... (I get that--and could care less if it came from someone in our country) ... but why do you continue to claim fraud after you won the election? That thought alone should scare the heck out of the American people.
  22. As someone who sees it on a daily basis, my answer is no. One of the things people do not realize is that Beechwood is absolutely landlocked with no change in sight. There is a set pool of kids in the school, and a set number of kids who participate in sports. That isn't going to change. That pool will not get larger (or smaller). That thought added in with a track program that has been on its way up since 2010. Club Volleyball, Soccer additional in school commitments--there is just are not a ton of athletes left over. The girls involved work hard, and they do a good job, and they will achieve cyclical success as the program continues to evolve. There is another factor involved (with Beechwood- not necessarily regarding softball) that will play havoc on all sports if things continue in the current direction. Which I am not going to talk about with the thought that, hopefully, things change before it is at the point where it needs to be addressed out in the open).
  23. I must be confused ... did Hillary win the election? Did something happen to where she is now the President of the United States? If she did something to break the law ... put her in jail ... but then again ... I am confused ... how many times has she been investigated? How many times has she been charged? Why doesn't the current "President" push an agenda to where he engages the Republicans to put a ton of pressure on to look at her dealings? Oh .. thats right ... the right already tried to do that during the election! Sure sounds like the biggest witch hunt in American history to me (again .. how many times has she been investigated AND charged? If she broke the law and is convicted .... let her rot ... Seriously ... I wish republicans had a clue how out of touch with reality they look every time they answer a Trump issue with "what about Hillary". But what in the world does that have to do with the current President and his issues? That would be a big fat Zero. Seriously ... did you win or did you lose? The only thing worse than a sore loser ... is a sore winner ... and every day that this goes on and the right brings up Hillary ... you make it more obvious that your guy is guilty. If your guy had a clue ... you would quit immediately pointing to Hillary whenever Trump is called out for his lies, sharing of classified info with Russia, slander, treatment towards women, relationship with Russia, etc. I understand that pointing at Hillary is basically all you have left ... but don't go out making Hillary the scapegoat for the failures of the current administration. If he had a clue how to be a leader ... he would quit watching TV all day and get something freaking done besides insulting people with different ideas and beliefs. I think what the right seems to forget ... it isn't just about the "election" ..its about the countless times that high ranking officials in this administration have denied (in public none the less) that they have not had contact with officials from Russia. Then ... just to be on the same level of incompetence as his father ... Trump Jr provides proof that he has lied .... and thinks that is the end of it. Only to find that there was also a former Russian agent also included in the meeting that Trump Jr (you know .... Mr. Transparency) apparently forgot to disclose? More fake news? Yeah ... that's it! The only thing more scary than the current President right now .. are the lengths that his "supporters" are willing to go as apologists for him .....
  24. I haven't said one freaking word about Impeachment (I am not at the point where I am there with the current President). However ... If Hillary or any other President intentionally sought help from outside the laws and rules of this country to win an election ... jail wouldn't be good enough for me. If anyone involved another country ... guess what ... that is a ton worse in my eyes. And as I have said on 3 different occasions ... in my opinion .. the issue with Trump and Russia isn't really about the election for me (even though it should be) .. this investigation goes back to something else ... the election is the starting point and when it is done ... it will only be the reason why the investigation started.
