The Bruins host the Panthers this Friday at 7:30PM. Central Hardin (9-3) is the favorite heading into this Region 1 Championship game after defeating Henderson County 31-16. Daviess County (7-5) knocked off District 1 Champion McCracken County 34-21 this past Friday. The victor hosts the winner of #1 Trinity vs. #7 Simon Kenton the Friday after Thanksgiving in a semi-final contest.

The Tigers and Bears play for the Region 3 title on Paul M. Young Field this Friday night. This is a rematch of their October 20 game won by St. Xavier 37-0. The margin may not be as large but the result will be the same. We'll have to see if St. Xavier running back Moretti is done for the year with a shoulder injury. This could affect the margin of victory.

I do wonder why Coach Lickert did not play his subs.

Per BGP Final Rankings prior to playoffs: Beechwood (1A) and Covington Catholic (5A) are favored to win their class titles. Trinity (6A) is the only Louisville team favored to win their class title.

Scott County's playoff experience and high level of confidence having beaten the Broncos previously will be more than enough to defeat the upstarts.
-
I am pleasantly surprised by this outcome. Now, go get those Tigers!
-
Nicely done, DeSales!
-
This a very nice win for the Dragons. I am very happy for Coach Reed and his staff/players.
-
Great win for the Bruins.
-
Pioneers are battle tested and ready!
And yet Rocky still won out!
Reasons Trinity will win:
Rondale Moore-you cannot stop this young man.
Nick Bohn-is unflappable at QB
Cody Auxier, Arak McDuffey, Stephen Herron, Nick Cardosi, Ethan Hull- five very talented defenders that play well together.
Trinity players/staff are more familiar with coaching/playing "big games".
Trinity is at home!

Metzmeier was the first Tigers RB to go down with an injury. This wasn't his first injury this season, was it? Or am I confusing him with another back? -
Thank you, thank you, thank you! I can't thank you enough! The Panthers are my second favorite team right now! Best of luck versus the Bruins.

This game is a "no contest". Simon Kenton will be fortunate to score and break their current four game shutout streak versus Trinity. It is predicted to be mid 60s as a high with 40% chance of rain.....we'll see how that works for the 'Neers.

52-0 three quarter beat down of Ryle (only a scrimmage-played under game rules). The scoring "drives" for the Fighting Camels were official aided. If the receivers were allowed to push off like that, how did you ever lose 5 games? 55 of the 63 yard drive came on "penalties". These Franklin county officials were simply out of their league working a 6A playoff game.I agree I said that when they scrimmaged Ryle. Small oline question marks on defense. -
Trinity has 700 reserved seats to hustle at $10.00 each. Season ticket holders were being made aware they need to purchase by Tuesday or the seats go on sale to general public on Wednesday. There is no "polite" way to beat anyone 51-13. Simon Kenton was killing Ballard 38-6 at the time. Again, your feelings are hurt. Only Dixie Heights and Highlands own victories over the Shamrocks from the northern Kentucky area.As per the announcer at the beginning of the fourth quarter it's at trinity. I felt that was lack of class and disrespectful to Campbell county. It could have waited to the end of the game. Rocks have a good team and much respect. You do have a terrific wrestling program.
-
I am a little surprised at the lack of activity on this thread.
Hey Panthers, Trinity Nation would really appreciate an upset in this one. The Mustangs did knock the Rocks out of the baseball tourney this past spring, but the football fans don't feel the need to drive to Paducah to exact revenge.

I take my voting very seriously. Based on normal voting trends on this blog, that is a large number of votes against Trinity. The polls are public. I ask for reasons. No, I do not claim to be super smart. Actually, the Fighting Camels four losses are a positive. They are to good teams. I apologize if my calling out the ten picking the Camels offends you. Dress warmly....32 degrees at kickoff....Then why have the poll? Just to justify you are super smart and know Trinity will win, and then chastise those that don’t pick them? -
I echo this sentiment! My favorite team likes to get to the line of scrimmage and go. You get some officials who are in no hurry and take their sweet time blowing the whistle for "ready to play".I have had mixed opinions. Unfortunately, sometimes you get refs that have never seen the speed and size that maybe two Louisville teams or Lexington teams have and it makes for a poorly called game. -
I cannot imagine this heartbreak. Prayers for the babies, Coach Williams, and all of the family. May God give them strength to deal with this tragedy.
-
Coaches from Male and Moeller could be interesting options :-).I am almost at a loss for words here.Cry me a river Brian Weinrich!
It is bad enough Highlands has been subpar under your watch, the last thing anyone wants to hear is you making excuses.

I thought all schools were required by the KHSAA to exchange film....
Not to my knowledge.

Is this wishful thinking or do you all truly believe the Fighting Camels can take down the Rocks in St. Matthews?
This would be a bigger surprise than the Reds sweeping the mighty Oakland Athletics in the 1990 World Series!
All kidding aside, the Fighting Camels lost to 5A Highlands (6-5), #5 Ryle (8-3), #6 Simon Kenton (10-1), and 5A #1 Covington Catholic (11-0). I know the us of comparative scores is frowned upon by some BGPers. Eastern fell by 5 points to the Camels. The Rocks whipped Eastern by 45 with 8 minute quarters in second half-and a running clock.
The Campbell County 64 man roster does include 7 freshmen(19 seniors).
One thing in the Fighting Camels favor is they did travel to Meade County for the first game of the season and won handily.
Bus travel apparently does not bother them.
It will be cold and dry in St. Matthews on Friday evening. Bundle up!!!

Is it a done deal? I did not see anything about the vote.
Will Scott County High retain enough boys to remain in 6A or will they drop to 5A to battle CovCath and Bowing Green?
What is the enrollment projection for the Warhawks?
-
Did this vote take place today or is it scheduled for later in November? I believe this topic was to be decided by the people of Scott County-is a new high school warranted? Any information would be appreciated.
#14 Central Hardin vs. Daviess County (6A Quarterfinal)
in KY Football (High School)

I learned my lesson picking against the Bruins earler this season. Central Hardin has a five game winning streak and is playing their best football right now.
