  1. Harrison county would never say one word to the opposing team, due to the fact that Coach Whitaker and the coaching staff would never allow that to happen. After the game when all the Beechwood players would not even shake Harrison county's hands, they simply walked past each other, the coaching staff from Harrison County moved them as far away as possible and were told not to even look at them.

You obviously must not have been at the game then. Both teams shook each other's hands and the Harrison County players said a lot more than one word.

  2. Are we premature in stating that he WILL be attending MIT?

    From the article:

Johnson, who was home-schooled until his freshman year, has been accepted to MIT, where he hopes to study biomedical engineering or biomedical chemistry.

"I'll play baseball if I go, and I'll keep playing the piano," Johnson said.

Talked to him the other day. He said he was 95% sure he will go there and also said he is getting all but about 5K per year.

  3. Boone certainly didn't look "inspired" in all areas today. A bit surprising.

The girl for NCC that seems to make them go is Bartels(sp?) #11. Not many girls in NKY can make the pull up J like she can.

I completley agree with both points made in this post. Boone didn't want it like NCC did in my opinion and #11 played great, shes looked quick and could really hit off the dribble.

  4. Brennan ... I think he will get reps at WR and CB. In fact, he may be one of the guys who sees the most action on both sides of the ball.

Cruse will likely get some reps at end on both sides of the ball.

Staten ... Beechwood's offense hasn't used the fullback much the last couple of years so his offensive reps will likely be minimal.

Bradley ... I don't see him getting reps on offense.

In fact, there is so much line depth that there are going to almost no guys getting much time on both sides.

There are a lot of guys who will get plays on both sides of the ball but no one who will consistently be playing the majority of the plays on both sides.

Don't forget Darrick Brilz. With Wheat coming in to play center Brilz and Everett should rotate at TE. With a smaller number of recievers they may move Cruse to WR like they began to do at the end of last year.

  6. I have a question for Manual. Rumor was that the Manual team traveled to NKY Thursday night and spent the night in Bellevue and then had a lite practice at Thomas More. Why would a team do this? If you are not in school yet and you have the whole day to travel, why would you spend the night? I just feel that having your team spend the night in a hotel is unsettling opposed to spending the night in your own bed and getting a good night sleep. Get up and start your day.

Sleeping in your own bed is definately a better sleep then a hotel room.

I don't like to use this term but I actually felt Manual came out flat.

You heard correctly. I talked with the father of the Manual head coach on Thursday night and they did practice at Thomas More. However, I can't tell you why they chose to do this.

  7. From what i've heard Boone handled Bw very well today and Thompson only through one int. Shwartz and the other young Qb got many reps and looked decent. Oppenheimer and Doyle led the team in touchdowns with 3 and 2 a piece. Trevan Brown i believe also had a touchdown on top of the other recievers 3 touchdowns. I believe their defense held Bw to only 2 td's. Boone had 4 picks on defense. I don't know where you got the information about Thompson throwing 3 or 4 picks.

BW had more than 2 td's. I believe their 1's scored 3 or 4 with one pick. The last 2 series for the tigers were taken by the freshman team. Boone also had maybe 3 picks while rotating QB's every few series. Their offense looked good today though. They seemed to get better as the day went on scoring on a few longer passes. Overall i'd say it was about even with a slight edge to BW if any.

  8. No one was on the bag at third as I recall, as the third baseman, SS an LF were converging on the play. I know Coach Meryerhoff was not a happy camper after that play.

From what I saw the third baseman was covering but the runner saw that it was going ot fall so he took off toward third and when the LF picked up the ball there was no play
