Unfortunately though, she was the best one. The short guy ref must have had a bet on the game, that's the only explaination I can even think of for those calls at the end. A 5 second call on Bueter when only 3 maybe 4 seconds went off the clock. That plus the walk call on Seibert cost NCC the game. I'd like to see the players determine the outcome. Not the case in this game.

Glad to see an NewCath team getting out and running, fun to watch Hightchew in the open court weave his way to the basket like a running back. -

Young Breds still need some work but have alot of potential. Will start beating some good teams when they start hitting some shots. They are much better shooters than they've shown so far. Glad to see Andy Miller play with some confidence last night. Michael Bueter is playing a nice floor game but he's shooting his 3's four feet beyond the line, he will make those if he takes a step in. Zach Ryan can shoot but he's gotten into a bad habit of not stepping into his jump shot and not jumping straight up. He's going to have some big games when he straightens that up. Brady Hightchew needs to trust his teammates more, Brady is so competitive that he tries to do it all himself. Problem is that sometimes his teammates stand around watching him instead of getting open. Can't really guard Brady with one player so someone should always be open. Breds just need to make shots. -
Haven't really seen many of the teams play but didn't No.16 Dixie Heights beat no. 12 LexCath last week?

Highlands might have a chance at home unless Brossart brings their 10 Region refs with them. -
Whats wrong with Highlands basketball
School Yard replied to imsays's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
I think there has to be a culture change at Highlands first. I know that winning a state ring is fantastic, even if it's watered down now, but 95% of the kids that play football aren't going on to play college ball anyway. Why not get the most out of high school sports and play as many as possible. I played 3 sports and have unbelievable memories in every one. I wouldn't have given up 2 sports just to win a state title in 1. That's pretty much what the student athlete at Highlands does. It's kind of a shame really. -
A lot of blaim everywhere. Andy Furman pushing Fitgerald to comment on Tu Hollaway. Hollaway acting like a punk and trash talking. The Refs not stopping the trash talk. Wells pushing Guyn and starting the fight should get 5 games. Gates and Mbodj should never play again for UC, what cowards, one hits a guy when he's not looking and the other kicks him when he's down. Both coaches by not taking the players out before the trash talking got out of hand. It's a 23 point lead and you still have starters in the game, really? Either start recruiting better character kids or don't play this game anymore. When did just winning become not enough, now you have to embarrass them also.

There a AA school for one, and you want to improve don't you? Can't improve with 25% of you games against 1A schools. -

NCC built a big lead in first half with Drew McDonald scoring 15. Drew didn't play in second half and NCC held on for a 4 or 5 pt. win. Drew McDonald 36 on the night, WOW! -

NCC is not a very physical team so Andy Miller must step up and play like everyone (but him) knows he can. By the way where were the Dixie fans/students? #1 team in region not traveling very well. Can't get more than 20 kids out of what 1200 to show up to a game. -

It's going to take some time for Evan Morse to get into the flow, he hasn't played for such a long time and never in a varsity game. With that being said however, if the Breds don't start hitting the boards better he could help. The breds were 2-3 inches a man bigger than Dixie and got out rebounded big time. I think Hightchew was their leading rebounder in the first half. Dixie is a very good shooting team but have a difficult time guarding the post. Drew McDonald was a beast especially for a freshman but if Dixie plans on advancing very far in the state tournament they better find a way to defend the paint. -

They do have to play because it's a district game, but the district is not seeded. -
For some reason Brossart seams to be 10-15 pts better at home.
