  1. Duran Jefferson - PG - In the last 10 years I do not think no PG ran his team better but Hester would be right there with Duran Austin Hill - Flat out backbone of any 5 you name Arrez Henderson - IMO no better defender comes close in NKY. Would check ANY teams best player regardless of size lock them down. Brandon Hatton - Gets Buckets - nuff said Elijah Pittman - Say want you want about his attitude at times but I'll take 6'7' with arms long enough to touch the floor any day of the week.
  2. I will say this for the Boone defense, they play extremely physical. If ur WR's cannot handle press coverage and cannot get off the ball they will struggle. Not sure how their front line will be but with the corners pressing nearly 100% of the time they have the ability to disrupt most teams offense.
  3. Good luck to Derby State and all the KY teams. I have already had a coaches call me from Louisiana and Texas asking about Derby State and I told them both they better bring their lunch and be ready because if you sleep on them they will beat you by 20! I told them Van Handorf avg. 30pts/game at last year's Nationals with Pouncy's NKY Select team that finished 6th in the country and now he's playing with at team that has size so they better look out. KY teams do well and I expect nothing less at this year's Nationals. Good luck to all the KY teams and
  4. While I like Cooper they are not a Top 5 team...yet. Currently I would put them around the 10 mark or on the frindge of Top 10. They lost 5 great seniors and coming close to filling those shoes will be extremely difficult. However, this team is going to compete and surprise a whole lot of teams on their schedule who think they were one hit wonders last season. Key will be the O-line who who accounted for 3 of those 5 players and of course the QB position. My opinion is that the current QB may return to TE for the betterment of the team and look for them to move a more athletic player to the QB position who can do more with his feet and get the skill position players like Bricking and Morgan the ball in "space". Defensively they will be solid flying around as usual. I would watch out for Scott, South Oldham and John Hardin. These teams will be very difficult and a sleeper could be Anderson Co. even though Cooper handed them a nasty loss last year in the playoffs. And of course we all know BG has already assigned lockers at WKU for the championship game as well they should because they are just that good!
  5. Congrats Big Lex! Known this player since his first year of playing football and he's a fine football player and an even better young man with a great family. All the best Lex!!!
  6. I can't stop laughing at all of LM30s logic. All I can say is OK......
  7. You're kidding right with the comment that Cooper is the reason Ryle doesn't have State chances? Cooper just completed it's 5th year of existence. Ryle was established in 1992 and been to the State Championship once if memory serves me correctly (2007?) so what was the reason prior to Cooper's creation in 2008 when the team started out it's 1st 3 "talent loaded" seasons at 2-8, 3-7, and 3-7? Ryle has and will always have mass talent at that school. It's what is being done with that talent is the reason there haven't been more State Championship runs. I get tired of the argument about the reason that Ryle isn't better is because of Cooper's existence. Cooper went from being the doormat of Boone Co. to a competitor, a district champion and a State runner-up in only it's 5th year so let's talk about doing more with less! Like I said, there is a boatload of talent in the Ryle boarders so don't blame the few Cooper players, whom many of which would have been at Conner or Boone anyway, for it's track record.
  8. I think what KC may be referring is Coach Borchers let's his "coaches coach" and does not have to be involved in every single detail which allows him to manage the overall scope of the team. The staff has alot of experience with several playing at the D1 level and all of them relate well with the players. As noted with the loss of those 5-6 key senior players from last season it will be tough for the Jags this season to return to BG but there WILL be some surprises in 2013.
  9. If anyone thinks college coaches will not watch film of a players freshman and JV h/l's you are sadly mistaken. Don't believe me, ask Drew Barker how many college coaches he got to watch his films of his first year at Conner. College coaches will leave no stone unturned when it comes to recruiting "exceptional" talent early especially if the player is putting the information in their lap by making contact with the coaches first. People need to educate themselves before speaking about the recruiting game because believe it or not it starts in the players freshman year, and sometimes as we have seen of late even earlier, varsity or not.
  10. No one was talkihg about his attitude or calling him names but YOU! You started the flame. Bottom line is this is not the place for bashing a 13-14 kid.
  11. WOW man there no need to bash kids on here and I'm sure it's a violation of some BGP rule. I'm sure if the Angel kid doesn't play by the rules he'll be put in is proper place. I know this kid plays for Pouncy in AAU and he's not had a lick of problems according to Pouncy. CCH will be loaded no doubt even with Cole playing varsity. The future is bright for CCH looks like.
  12. Bottom line is Burke was a scorer, childhood and AAU teammate of Sullinger, and practically begged for an offer from the school he grew up dreaming of playing for with his best friend at the time, so take the PG discussion out of the equation. It proved to be a bad move on Thad's part and he's taken some heat over the year's for it. IDC that Shannon Scott was higher rated at the time because something has to be said for "projecting" a players capability in 1-2 years out of HS which Burke clearly has graded out higher. I'm a diehard BuckNut so I can criticize my own coach...lol. Outside of the Oden, Conley, Cook, and Lightly class there has been no bumper crop of 4-5 stars players coming in but again, OSU is STILL and always will be a Football school so as long as Thad wins a Big Ten title every couple of years and makes it to the Sweet 16 every other year no one will question anything. I'm just greedy and want a "ship" in basketball too. Russell is a great addition and will produce as soon as he arrives and I hope he can get Okafor to join the fold.
  13. Absolutely agree about Morgan. Almost hurts his team when he doesn't shoot. Hopefully he figures it out and has a little more confidence in his offensive game.
  14. This is the thinking the Jags want everyone to have. It may not be a return back to Bowling Green but this team will compete with anyone on their schedule. The team is not just Morgan and if people think that's all this team has they didnt pay attention to some of the other jrs on the team. Last year is last year but there is talent coming so it won't be as long as most think before they are a consistent player in 5A. The MS program is helping because they are running what the HS is running so it does help. Not bad for a program that is just getting ready to start its 6th season.
  15. HUGE pick up for Ohio State!! I've been a Matta critique for a while about his recruiting (#shudatooktreyburke!) and he's landed a big one here!!
  16. The ball will be thrown at Cooper, it's just a question mark on just "who" will be throwing it. Way too much speed on the outside and teams that think they will double Morgan will pay the price on the other side as a former player has come back to football and he's probably faster than Morgan and stands about 6'2" so teams won't be able to double both sides. Add Fussinger to the mix at WR, provided he doesn't end up at QB which is a strong possibility, they pose some serious problems for db's with that 3-headed monster. Still, the line will have at least 3 maybe 4 new faces and the QB is a big question but defense returns alot and was one of the leading defenses in the State last year. Losing some key pieces last year will hurt but the Jags will compete and won't be an easy game for anyone. Also heard last nite from a player at Boone Co. that they are throwing the ball around ALOT and the days of "ground and pound" have become a thing of the past. They will still run it but your eyes will not be deceiving you when BC lines up the majority of the time in spread and throw it considerably more than they run it.
  17. This team will be the favorite in the district. I understand that Sherry is gone but this team returns ALOT and is scary good at the other skill positions. Look out...
  18. Would be interested to see who the 6 wins are against.
  19. Agree with everything here, will be tough to match last year's great run. Morgan will be back as well to run the point and if he ever decides to shoot the ball he will help his team out tremendously. One tidbit, do not be surprised if the younger McNeil (Sean) who will be a freshman sees some varsity minutes. He's already nearly 6'1" and IMO shoots better than the older McNeil. Reports I'm getting out of their open gyms is that no one can guard him when he gets on a roll. One thing for sure is that who ever is on the floor they WILL play defense for Sully or you will make your way to the bench!!
  20. Butler most likely will be able to put some sort of academic financial package to defray a good portion of that cost. I also know that they have an "Alumni Fund" where football players get a little piece of that to help as well. With the football program being a non-scholarship program every little bit will help. The facilities at Butler are very nice and would seem to be a good fit for Lex if that's where he choses to go but I see him landing somewhere else where he's getting the whole thing paid for. Regardless, congrats for having the opportunity to play at the next level where ever that may be. Good young man and a hard worker with at great family.
