  1. If a subject steps out of the vehicle with his hands up, he is now compliant. I would support every measure to ensure the continued safety of the officers, but if he is no longer resisting, he does not deserve to be assaulted.

Agreed. However, that's where we expect the officers to be abnormal. It's normal to be mad that someone disrespected you. It's normal to want to shown who's boss.

BUT police still have to follow the law.

  2. Let's talk for a minute about the excessive danger that the purse thief could have caused.

A woman's purse can have so much more than just her wallet. She could have life saving medication for herself and her children. Maybe her cell phone is in there, too. Let's say she drives away from the gas station and does not notice that her purse is gone. With her full tank of gas, she starts cruising along. Now it's time for medication or insulin for herself or her children. Purse gone. Ok--call the doctor. Cell phone gone! Ok. Pull over on the freeway and "flag" down help, hoping it's a nice person or a police officer. Hoping she does not get hit, her car does not get hit, and her child(ren) are safe. All because some dude stole her purse. No big deal, right?

Still doesn't warrant the potential danger high-speed chases put the officers and the public in over a non-violent offender. Catch him if you can do it quickly and safely. Otherwise, it's often not worth the risk.

  3. Also the head coach at NC State who was an assistant at U of L was also head coach at Hargrave so the ties to Hargrave are deep. Congrats to Braxton. He as caught in a change of coaches at OSU where the coach that recruited him was no longer there. New coach wants to bring in his guy(s) so this works out for all.

Refresh my memory. Besides prep school did he play for any other high school than PCC?

  4. Sorry but Scooter should be starting at 2nd base and Peraza'a non hitting, bad fielding butt should be his backup. All I've heard Chris Welsh say for the last 3 days was what a good job the current hitting coach has been doing and yet they haven't gotten Peraza to where he even looks like he knows what he is doing. If he is our future ss then this team is in trouble defensively as well as offensively.

    When did .253 become "non-hitting?"

  5. I kind of felt a bit put off at one point, too, wanting it to be about what it started as, also. However, I felt that in the end, it gave me great insight and changed my perspective on some things. To me, it was worth it.

Finished it today. What a case study that guy could be.

  6. Without knowing what kind of fight the guy was putting up against the officers it's hard to say. If he just had his hands up trying to protect himself then it probably falls into the "excessive" category. My guess is the officers were jacked up from the chase and their adrenaline was flowing pretty hard(not justifying - just explaining a possible reason). It really looked like one guy was doing the beating.

The chase/no chase decision is always an interesting debate. If an officer's cruiser crashed into a bystander and/or their car LMPD would have a tough sell. Not an easy call IMO.

  7. The worse possible thing Congress could do right now is to repeal the existing healthcare bill and then delay implementing a new bill to replace it. Markets would collapse.

I'll let you guess what POTUS advocated this morning in a tweet.

As a bonus I'll give you another guess as to what a talking head on Fox News was advocating about 10 minutes prior to the POTUS tweet.

  8. I don't understand what you are arguing it is 100% fact the stay was granted on a 9-0 decision?

Depends on what one thinks the vote said.

If one believes the 9-0 vote said the travel ban , as it existed prior to this ruling, should never have been stayed then that would be misleading.

If one believes the 9-0 vote was saying the issue of POTUS authority should be reviewed AS LONG AS the ban is modified then that would be accurate.

  9. I dont know. You tell me. Its pretty obvious. Lets see how good your interpretation skills are when dealing with the liberal left.

Since we have a history of comments by him regarding what the D party should be focused on and what they can do to get him out of the WH it's pretty obvious. It's a "nothingburger" because it doesn't matter until it's proven AND its nothing any anti-POTUS folks can control. He's been pretty clear that it's a waste of energy. Let Mueller do his thing and we'll see what comes out.

Again, not difficult to do the math. Your video guy has a history of taking clips and distorting them. Ironic that you grasp onto his videos with such gusto.

  10. Collusion didn't happen. Russia meddled in the election like they have for years and we have in other countries elections. The Parchute for the loss has to stop.

While there is a chunk of folks who think it was 100% responsible for HRC losing I think most are more concerned about how they did it, the POTUS seeming lack of concern, and who was involved.

You could be right but you're guessing. I assume at some point we'll have an actual report presented and get a better picture.

  11. Lipton got it. Collusion. Plus CNN has sold alot of false goods. Remember the polls? The were skewed. Tomorrow the worst video on CNN is supposed to drop in the morning. Now who knows if its any worse than the first two. I think by now everyone knows CNN is making about 70% of the news up to feed the frenzy, so what could be worse than a supervising producer caught on tape telling what he did? Or Van Jones making light of the Russian coverage by CNN off camera? Thats what I am talking about.

The Van Jones thing is a complete joke. It's not what you want it to be.

So you were serious when you asked about CNN being held liable? 70%? Good lord. As they say in the country you're ate up.

  12. I think Trump is brilliant with his tweeting. I think the media does to. That is why they hate him tweeting so much. He accomplishes three things by tweeting...(1) talks directly to the people, (2) shows the media he does not need them to get his message out and (3) get his jabs in on the media. I think today's tweet about the Morning Joe folks was probably done just to jab not only them but also the media in general. That and the fact that they begged him to stay at his place not long ago and then she literally says he is insane and not fit for office not long later.

I'll slightly disagree. I don't think the #1 goal was a "jab." It was an immediate reaction due to being thin-skinned. How in the world does he have time to watch cable news every morning?
