Slaton and White are Juniors, but I have a feeling that Slaton may opt for the NFL.Doesn't WVU return most of their team?UC is headed in the right direction. They will not compete this year , as GT said, and I do not think they will be a serious contender in the next 2 to 3 years.
Rome wasn't built in a day, right?
By the way, UC fans, sit back and enjoy this growing part. To me, it's the most fun.

Once Cincinnati establishes themselves as a contender in the BEast, I think that tendency will lessen.UC has to KEEP the local talent in Cincy. Cincy has some of the best high school talent in the country hands down... problem is there is a school up I-71 that likes to take it, and other schools as well. -
The first year of the "New" Big East (2005), USF was in the title race until the last week of the season, when they lost to WVU. I see no reason why UC can't at least challenge now.

Naturally I'm hoping for a South Florida win, but here is a reality check.....
Last year Slaton was injured coming into the game and was re-injured in the 1st quarter. They, WVU, did not have Devine. Once the run was taken away from the Mountaineers, the Bulls pinned their ears back and came after White. George Selvie had a field day, but White was still able to rally WVU late and USF had to hold them off.

4 Big East teams in the top 25 and none of them are Louisville. Who would have thought that 4 weeks ago? Obviously, none of the "so called" experts. Every week has brought a new surprise.

What? Wins over national powers. One perceived. One real. :bunny:A win over UL and Bama in the same comparison? Yikes... -
They still have an overpowering offense, but that secondary leaks like the Titanic.
-
Please, keep it on the game and not each other, guys.

Wow! I guess you don't want my UL/USF tickets either?Louisville's season seems to have ended when they lost to Kentucky. No winning tradition that pushes them to bounce back against Syracuse. One good national level performance year and done. Coaches ( John L, Petrino) leave a mid level program that overachieved with fans that can't fill a 40,000 seat stadium in the conference opener? The old guard of football teams must think that Louisville was a one hit wonder. This is a lesson in what it takes to build tradition. Win all games you should and bring it in games you shouldn't. Do we still want to build the upper level? -
Considering what Kentucky scored against the Louisville defense at home versus what Syracuse did on the road in Louisville, I'm kind of worried about the Cats now.

I wish, but no, they're a few more seasons away from contending.South Florida... they have all the pieces. However, if that happened, I'm not sure what I would do. Freaking out would be the start, though. Massive beer drinking would then ensue. :jump:

This surprises you? What a joke, and this clown is a senator!!!  -
As a USF fan, I'd love nothing better than to see the Bulls win the BEast. However, as a realist, I can see them dropping all 3 conference home games to WVU, UC, and UofL as well as road games to Rutgers and Pitt. Cincinnati is good, very good.
One thing I've gotten from this season so far, is that nobody, absolutely nobody, knows what's going to happen next. As someone who loves college football, that's as close to heaven as I can picture.

Thought the same thing.Gotta love Curry's vocabulary...."Good blitz picker upper". -
Yeah, I that be him. I'm not confident with spelling his last name right, yet.You mean Billy Gillipsie? Here comes the Governor.

Did anybody see the interview with Billy G? No comments?

Wow! Great half of football.

You're assuming that Oregon would not do that to the rest of the Big 10. The Buckeyes had trouble with Akron, who they should have blown into next week, and it took a late comback by Wisconsin to beat UNLV.What about Oregon? Oregon beat Michigan 39-7. If ORGEGON can do that, what do you think Wisconsin, Penn State, and Ohio State will do to them? I see Michigan going 6-6 maybe 7-5.And I don't see them beating Ohio State at the end of the year. By that time Boeckman will be better, so will Wells and Robiskie, and the D will be even better. If Michigan can't stop App State's offense, I feel sorry for them when they have to play against PJ Hill and Wisconsin, and Wells and the Buckeyes.
After the way the vaunted elite teams of the Big 10 were thrashed by their competition in the Bowl games last year, there is a question hanging out there as to whether the entire conference is a good as advertised. The OSU - Washington game will answer part of that question. However, if the Maze and Blue can win the conference title, which I can't rule out, they'll be ranked. For the TV ratings for the Rose Bowl, if for no other reason.

I have been monitoring the site most of today and the only packet losses I'm getting are from a DNS server at Abovenet Communications in New York. I've got about 8 hops through their network to get to BGP, and there appears to be a clog there. However, this slow down has not prevented me from getting on and posting.
