  1. The varsity game was 48-7. The JV/Freshman game was 27-6.
  2. I look forward to following Ty Price's progress this season. Sounds like he has the potential to be a solid asset for Warren East and only an 8th grader.
  3. Hard to trust Rick Bolus ratings because it is typically based on kids that come to his camp. Travis Perry is an incoming 8th grader that was the leading scorer for a 21-10 Lyon County team last season. He averaged almost 21 points per game last season on varsity as a 7th grader but he is not mentioned on that list. I think he is considered the top incoming 8th grader in the state.
  4. Great job! I really enjoyed reading the summery of week 1. 2A is going to be fun to follow this year and I will be looking forward to your articles.
  5. Jumpers looked good for the first game. First offensive play of the game was a touchdown bomb from Sheron to Grundy. That’s how you christen the new turf field!
  6. In 3 week we will get a glance at a potential semi or state final matchup when Beechwood travels to Somerset to play on the Briar Jumper's new turf field.
  7. Yes, it was posted on SHS football's twitter last night about Sheron. I had not heard about Bruner. Very deserving of two great young men!
  8. SHS vs Corbin! Glad to see Somerset has added an old rival this season. Both Danville and Corbin were SHS's biggest rivals back in my day.
  9. Kade Grundy reaches the 1000 point threshold last night against North Laurel. He is the only player in Somerset's long history to reach this plateau during his sophomore year. Kade is a stellar 3 sport athlete for the Briar Jumpers who committed to play baseball for the Louisville Cardinals when he was in 8th grade and last summer made Team USA's national baseball team.
  10. I wouldn't rule out Somerset or Pulaski County winning the region either. This is the most balanced year in 12th Region basketball I have seen in awhile. When tournament time comes, 7 of the 8 teams that make it to region could win. I think Danville and Wayne County are probably the front runners, but Lincoln is playing good and West had a really nice win over LCA. Should be some really good games to watch during the 12th Region Tournament!
  11. Key 12th Region Games of the Week results: Monday, January 7 Pulaski County 81 at Somerset 88 OT Tuesday, January 8 Pulaski County 41 at Lincoln County 71 Lexington Christian 62 at West Jessamine 69 Danville 65 at Boyle County 41
  12. Final. Sophmore Kade Grundy scored 29 points to lead the Jumpers. Junior Colton Fraley led the Maroons with 22 points.
  13. Duke starts their summer games tomorrow in Toronto. They play 3 games in Toronto and Montreal on 8/15, 8/17, and 8/19. I don't know if it is televised though.
  14. I don't know much about Glasgow but my guess would be they are a final 4 team with the way cross bracketing is this year. ( Please correct me if I am wrong) R1: D1 vs D2 R2: D3 vs D5 R3: D4 vs D6 R4: D7 vs D8 Region 1: #1-Mayfield , #7-Owensboro Catholic Region 2: #5-Glasgow , #10-Monroe Co. Region 3: #2-CAL , #3-DeSales , #6-Newport Central Cath., #8-Lloyd Memorial Region 4: #4-Danville , #9-Somerset West side: Region 1 vs Region 2 East side: Region 3 vs Region 4
  15. The Cardinals have a good group coming back next season and will be the favorite in the 12th Region.
