14th Region Post Season Results 1976-1985

I am looking for the complete post season results from the 14th Region Baseball Tournament from 1976-1985 when it had that weird alignment for the Harlan County Schools and two years the Bell County schools were in that Harlan County district in 1984 & 1985. I have completed the 13th Region Post Season History and will make it shareable at a later date.

I just wanted to have accurate records and results from the following schools who later were 13th region schools in baseball but were always 13th Region Schools in Basketball.

Cumberland- Missing the 1977 Region Tourney Opponent & Results, and how far they made it in region, I know they didn't win it this year. Champion was Powell Co, and all I know is Fleming Neon beat Lynch in first round 22-11

Middlesboro- 1984 1st Round Opponent & Score & Championship score over Powell Co

(Mboro was in 13th until 1983 moved to 14th in 84 & 85 and back to 13th in 1986)

Bell Co- 1985 1st Round Opponent was Powell Co but who won and score

if Bell won they first game, they lost to MC Napier in the second round but by what score.

Semi's- M.C. Napier over PC/KCC (Need score)

Championship- M.C. Napier over Whitesburg (Need Score)

1977- Need Entire Tournament Field with District Champions & Runner Ups

All I have is Fleming-Neon beat Lynch 22-11 in the first round and Lynch was a district champion and Cumberland was their runner up. Fleming-Neon also a district runner up.

Powell County won the championship.

1984- First Round- Middlesboro over Opponent & Score

First Round- Two Opponents & District Champion & Runner- Up (One team was Lee County because Lee played Middlesboro in Semi Finals)

First Round- Powell County over Opponent & Score & were they district champion or runner up

Championship- Middlesboro over Powell County (Need Score)

1985- First Round- Hazard over Opponent & Score & Who was district champion and runner up. Hazard in bracket with Cumberland because Cumberland beat Hazard 7-3 in Semi's

First Round- Powell County vs. Bell County (Need Winner & Score)

First Round- M.C. Napier over Opponent & Score & Who was district champion and runner up.

Semi's- M.C. Napier over Powell or Bell (Need Opponent & Score)

Owsley County won the 56th District in 1975 and 1976. Wolfe was runner up in ‘76 to Owsley but I don’t recall the runner up in ‘75.

Owsley lost out in the first round of the region in ‘75 to Laurel County. The regions weren’t the same back then as they are now. In ‘76 you have Owsley losing to Whitesburg. I suppose that right. I don’t remember who they lost to that year.

You have Owsley losing to Breathitt in the region first round in 1980. That’s incorrect. Owsley won that game and defeated Cumberland in the semifinals. They lost to Hazard in the championship game. I don’t remember the score.

Yes sir thanks for the information, I knew Owsley defeated Cumberland must of been a typo.

Yes from the 1940's to 1975 there was only 8 baseball regions statewide and only district champions advanced to region. Starting in 1976 it went to 16 regions even though they werent placed in the traditional basketball regions (IE the Harlan County Schools.

The baseball alignments finally matched their basketball alignments starting in 1986
