Highlands 10 Holmes 0 6 innings

Sophmore Joey Cochran pitched 5 innings and junior Jake Liggett pitched the 6th. Senior Mitch Meyer and junior Gabe Schultz had good AB's for the Birds that produced the offense. Birds are off the rest of the week before going to Shelby County for a DH on Saturday.

Amazing the difference when you throw strikes. Cochran faced this same Holmes team last FRI and had control problems. Last night, he had very good control and velocity. Battled Holmes' 1B in the 1st inning through a 14 pitch at bat to retire him. That was a sign of good things to come.

Meyer is seeing the ball well and hitting it hard to all fields. Schultz and JRs Quentin Murray and Hector Molina are also having quality at bats at the top of the order.

Also, Frosh lost to Holy Cross 9-6. Anyone have a JV score? I think they were scheduled to play Holmes at 7:00 PM after the Holy Cross v. Brossart varsity matchup.
