Jim Schue
I was looking for some information on it the other day and couldn't believe that it starts a week from Wednesday. The championships have been on Super Bowl Sunday for as long as I recall. Why the move up a week?
Voice of Reason
Is the All A a week earlier or the Super Bowl a week later? It seems to me that the Super Bowl is late this year.
statmanhensley
Not sure but could it be due the arena availability?

They got together and rescheduled to avoid the annual national TV conflict. Obviously the Super Bowl deferred to the larger attraction?
westsider
The All A was a week later than usual last year because of a scheduling issue with EKU. There may be a calendar change factored in, too.
Jim Schue
Not sure but could it be due the arena availability? The Civic Center in Frankfort ain't exactly booked solid.
Jim Schue
The All A was a week later than usual last year because of a scheduling issue with EKU. There may be a calendar change factored in, too. Yet the finals still wrapped up on the first Sunday in February, just like it and the SB has for several years. The All A is early this year. Check that -- In 2010, the All A finished up on Jan. 31. Every other year since 2002 (but this one) it has wrapped up in early February. The Super Bowl has been first Sunday in February since 2004. sweet16
The all A was late last year and is back where it has been the previous years. It was late last year due to EKU having a conflict. I am going by the KHSAA corresponding date calendar.

Only once in the past 10 years has it not been in February, outside of this year.
Mack The Knife
Maybe it was because the 1st fell on a Sunday. That caused the girls regionals to start the week of the 9th and the boys the 16th. Last year was the first time there was 11 days between the boys regional finals and the girls first round at Richmond.
