Log Mountain Boy
It would be great to land Miller. Maybe this guy can really help us out with that. And bring more to the table. I really don't know enough about him to talk about what kind of hire he is yet.

cshs81
I can't imagine that this one coach is THE reason Miller is so high on the Illini. It can't hurt but I wouldn't read too much into it. Hopefully, the guy can recruit Chicago.

letabrotherspeak
Another connection to the Chicago area pipeline. I wish they would hire someone from the Atlanta area. Only thing left is the DOBO. Marc Maggard missed this one...he was almost positive it would be Alvin Brooks.

cshs81
He was the lead recruiter on Miller... OK. The quote I read said the kid liked the "family atmosphere." I read that to be more than liking one coach.
gametime
OK. The quote I read said the kid liked the "family atmosphere." I read that to be more than liking one coach. I'm sure there's more than just this coach, but he was the main contact point for Miller and his family. While it doesn't knock the Illini out of the picture, it is certainly a big blow to their chances. He's been recruiting Miller for a long time... bellalumni40
OK. The quote I read said the kid liked the "family atmosphere." I read that to be more than liking one coach. Ever heard of "recruit speak." Very similar to "coach speak" and definitely the same concept. Looks like it could be a nice addition to the staff for now, but I dont know anything about the guy. What other notable recruits has he been in on in the past besides Miller? Is he any kind of specialist? etc...
letabrotherspeak
Lead recruiter on the Gordon kid that verballed to Illinois and reneged. Was lead man on Liggins before he verballed to UK. Said to be very tight with a 2010 kid who is supposed to be fantastic. Word is that Gillispie was fishing for a 3rd assistant that could potentially bring a recruit with him. That is what knocked a few hopefuls out of the picture. Alvin Brooks who was thought to be the 3rd assistant may end up being DOBO.

bellalumni40
While I like the hire, you have to be a little concerned with the two big misses... While Illinois has been pretty good of late, it is still Illinois. I tend to agree with your statement, but you do have to consider that with who they were up against. If the hire is just for Miller there is smoke and no fire...
