By All State Baseball - 1) Hazard (14-2): Hazard remains unbeaten in the new year, in region and district play as they picked up two more region and district wins last week. This week's schedule is a little tougher for the Bulldogs as they head to EKU for the All "A" State Tournament. They open up with Louisville Collegiate on Thursday at 5 PM. 2) Knott County Central (13-4): The Patriots won they're only game of the week,... Read More →

16th Region Week 7 Review

By zebraman - The big event of the week in the 16th region for week 7 was the all-A tournament in Raceland. The tournament saw some good basketball and ended with the Comets of West Carter holding the nets. The Region wished the Comets well as we get back into the slate of district games that are scheduled for week 8. At this point, in the 61st district, Rowan County and Bath County would be favored to head to the regional tournament. In the 64th, Ashland and Boyd are heavy favorites. In the 62nd and 63rd, who knows? Those two districts are totally up for grabs. 1) Ashland (Season: 18-0 ... Read More →

By ApolloFan98 - 1. Ohio County Eagles (15-3) UP 1 The Eagles bounced back from being upset by Mclean County last week with two blowout wins over 3rd Region competition. They defeated Grayson County by 25 and Daviess County by 23. Freshman Elijah Decker led the Eagles with 18 in the win over Grayson County. Ohio goes on the road this week with games against Barren County and Muhlenberg County. The game on Friday at Muhlenberg is a big one. If the Eagles win, they will clinch the #1 seed in the 10th district and a bye into the 3rd Region tournament. 2. Owensboro Red Devils (11-7) UP 1 The Devils... Read More →

Seventh Region Week 7 Review: The Ballard Bruins Are LIT Champions

By Smallhoops - Things are certainly coming together for the Ballard Bruins. This week the Bruins looked strong in winning the 73rd annual Louisville Invitational Tournament, giving it both the LIT championship and the King of the Bluegrass championship this season. It is shaping up as a very good season for the Bruins. But no one is handling them the Seventh Region title yet. There is a lot of basketball yet to be played, and a lot of teams in the Seventh Region that are playing hard and getting better. And speaking of teams playing hard - congratulations to the Louisville Collegiate Titans on... Read More →

Sixth Region Week 7 Review: Fern Creek Solidifies Its Spot At The Top

By Smallhoops - The Fern Creek Tigers remain at the top spot in the Sixth Region this week based on its run to the championship game of the Louisville Invitational Tournament, where the Tigers fell 57-51 to the Ballard Bruins. Fern Creek actually took the lead over the Bruins near the end of the game but Ballard came back to claim the victory. The top spot is about the only one in which I have any confidence. Perhaps some clarity will emerge over the next few weeks at the teams play more intra-region games. And congratulations to the Holy Cross Cougars on winning the Sixth Region All A Classic... 16th Region Week 6 Review

By zebraman - Week 6 saw a definite flex of the muscles by Ashland. The Tomcats are now 17-0 and are approaching one of the best starts in their history. At this point, a legitimate question is can any 16th region team beat them. The answer is that any team can be beat any night. However, at this point it looks like it would require an off night for the tomcats and a great night for their opponent. 1) Ashland (Season: 17-0 This week: 3-0) Week 6 was a great week for the Tomcats. They started off by getting a little revenge against the team that put them out of the Sweet 16 last year,... Read More →

By silo11 - Week Six Review: Webster County lost their first game to a Kentucky team while Hopkins County Central got their first win. Madisonville recovers from their first losing streak of the season. University Heights took control of district 8 with wins against Hopkinsville and Christian County. Sad fact is that region 2 is the weakest it has been in quite some time. Only 4 teams have winning records this season, with only one team having any significant wins outside of the region. Here are the week 6 rankings: 1. Madisonville North Hopkins – BGP #8 Season record: 14-3 After losing... Read More →

8th Region Week 6 Review: Week 7 Looms Large

By ColonelMike - 8th Region Week 6 Review: Week 7 Looms Large By Colonelmike As we complete the sixth week of the season, the 8th Region continues to be a very competitive region – one that has multiple potential contenders. Legitimate contenders. That said, the top three have separated themselves from the rest of the pack – and this coming week will see those three squaring off against one another in what should be a very telling week. Week 7 features two big matchups involving the top 3 teams, all three of which are ranked in the state Top 20: Tuesday, January 14th – South Oldham vs.... Read More →

By se7ens - 1) Somerset (13-2) – Somerset stays on top this week with wins over McCreary County Central and Casey County. The All A Regional starts this week at Burgin and the Briar Jumpers open up against Washington County. 2) Danville (13-4) – Danville is knocking on the door of the top spot and it may very well be the case that next week’s number 1 is the All A Regional Champ. 11th Region Week 6 Review

By mooremiller31 - The season continues to grind on in the 11th Region. After the dust has settled from Christmas tournaments and other events most of our 11th Region teams have started to play in region and district games. One would think this would start to give us a more clear picture of the region as a whole but after this week I am not sure what to really expect anymore. Other then the top spot you could make an argument for numerous teams to be ranked anywhere from 2-10. Lets check out what went on this week and whats on deck for next! TEAM RANKINGS 1.
