You could be right...hadn't thought of that. That would make sense, since they look like completely different fighters in the cage.

One things for sure...if they listen to Randy, win or not, they won't be unprepared in the octagon. Couture is the man.

Speaking of juice...Got any old pics of Griffin?

The one I saw in the ring didn't look like the guy Keith Jardine dismantled, he looks like he was cut out of stone.

I was very disappointed in Chuck. I really expected him to come in prepared, and hopefully finish the fight in the first round. You'd think by about the 4th or 5th kick to the body, that he might try to block a few.

Forrest Griffin looked great. I think very few people believed he would beat Shogun, let alone dominate the entire fight. I'm glad the he got the choke and the end, and didn't risk a judges' decision. After the Bisping/Hammill fight and one judge giving the fight to Chuck on Saturday, I'll never be comfortable with the fight going to a decision again.

I was also very disappointed in Diego Sanchez. Before his fight against Koschek, I really thought he was on his way to a title fight. It seems that he's lost some confidence. John Fitch is the real deal. He's going to make some noise in the welterweight division.

One thing that amazes me....about Randy Couture....or really the UFC in general. I love seeing the Hall of Fame HW champion of the world cornering guys on the undercard.....giving them direction and water between rounds. It's nice to see he's dedicated and truly cares about his fighters. I saw Rich Franklin do the same thing for Jorge Gurgel in his UFC debut. He was the MW champ at the time.
What can I say? Almost every fighter I've expected to win recently has lost, including Rich in his first fight against Silva...why not?

I agree with Liddell...totally unprepared. How else can you explain letting a guy kick you without even attempting to prevent it? With that strategy Cro Cop might be able to win a fight against Liddell... He'd at least snap a few of his ribs...if Jardine didn't already do it.

What about Vera and Sylvia? Could be interesting.

I hear Shogun may have suffered a VERY serious head injury. Not sure if it happened before or during the fight, but it could keep him out for a while...maybe forever. I'll find out more. I found this on MMAweekly's boards.

You know there is a weight limit right? If his muscles got any bigger he'd be a little too heavy for light heavyweight...

Not to mention the amount skill you have to learn to even use acquired muscle mass...

Yeah, but if you are losing body fat and replacing it with muscle then overall body weight doesn't change much.

No one has answered my question...Did Forrest Griffin look be in 100 times better shape than he has before?

I know Couture could probably train an MMA athlete better than anyone else, but even he isn't a miracle worker.

Personally, I didn't think there was a huge difference in the appearance of Forrest or Shogun after watching it again. Forrest looked to be in better shape, and obviously he was, but it didn't look like anything more than hard work to me. And it wasn't a significant difference that would make me suspicious...same with Shogun...his physique looked pretty much the same to me. Apparently, his cardio has been questioned before, so that wasn't as surprising to some people as it was to me.

As for Shogun and Liddell...I haven't found anything about Shogun being injured yet. And there is a new rumor that those two may fight...Chuck vs. Shogun. If Chuck can't beat a PRIDE guy, then he might be done...

Okay, I just read that Shogun did not get seriously injured. He's fine. Also, Chuck probably won't retire.

Forrest looked the same to me. I'll find some pics for verification though.

Brandon Vera has been one of my favorites, so I will be very happy to see him back in the octagon. Tim Sylvia may very well be my least favorite fighter. I think that Vera is the more talented of the two, but Sylvia certainly has a size advantage. I'll be pulling hard for Vera, but I've given up on making any predictions.
