Solid line up for a Strikeforce event.

The championship fights went about as expected. Gil Melendez and Nick Diaz are two of the best in the world at their respective weight classes. I am convinced the Melendez is the best lightweight. I would love to see Nick Diaz get a shot at Rush at 170. We'll see if the merger leads to these guys getting into a UFC cage sometime in the next few years while they are still on top of their respective games.

I hate the Strikeforce announce team- they are awful. The Mousasi-Jardine fight was so obviously going to be a draw because Jardine got a 10-8 round 1 due to a point deduction on Gegard. They acted like the decision came out of left field. Jardine took down Mousasi 6 or 7 times in the first 2 rounds and they acted like he did nothing. I would love to see this rematch after Jardine has more than 9 days to prep for the fight. I had a buddy say to me that Mousasi could, potentially, give Jon Jones a run for his money. Jones would destroy Mousasi- Gegard has no defense for take downs. King Mo took him down at will and Jardine did the same until he gassed in round 3. I am not a fan of Mousasi.

Shinya Aoki, whatever you may say about him, knows the ground game like no other lightweight. He can submit guys so easily. He can't stand up with anybody, but if he gets any lightweight to the ground he can beat them.

Mousasi has failed to impress me in the 2 or 3 fights I've watched. I thought he was supposed to be a good striker...I figure most good strikers should be able to take Jardine out in 15 minutes. He hasn't shown much of a chin in his career, IMO. That was a bad result for Gegard, IMO.

Has all the tools except will to win/heart. Reminds me A LOT of Brandon Vera.....
