    NFL rule changes

Kickoffs moved to the 35 yard line. Replay officials can now review any scoring play.

So do you think college will move theirs back up to the 35 to match? It's funny that they finally got around to moving it back just in time for the NFL to move up.

I don't like this move at all from a fan perspective. There are already some guys who boom it to the back of the endzone, now its like you have to hope for a poor kick just to be able to get to return it. Those five yards mean a lot when a majority of NFL kicks go to anywhere from the 3 yard line to 5 yards deep.

I didn't read the link. Did they say it was to cut down on collisions?

I'm ok with it. I am all for a safer game. Nothing worse than seeing a player carted off the field on a stretcher. If this move can help with that, then I endorse it.

I didn't read it either but I would assume that is the case.

I don't mind this one as much as the proposed change of the meaning "defenseless player".

Rumors have it they have proposed making a QB in the process of throwing the ball a "defenseless player" thus making it illegal to hit him. Same for a receiver catching a pass...

I really don't like moving the kickoff up. KR guys have to hate this as well as it good certainly impact their future contracts.

I got a better idea.....just give them flags and make it flag football. It's bad enough there is a lockout which makes me salty but now they are further sissifying the game of football. Why even tackle when every tackle will pretty much be illegal. Hell, maybe Jerry Rice can come out of retirement and LeBron can come be a wide receiver after all. Bo Jackson and Barry Sanders may as well come back as well since they don't gave to worry about getting hit anymore. This is ridiculous. What's next? Make the defense count to 7 Mississippi before they can rush?

I think the kickoff rule will give teams more of a chance to t-off on the return team by lofting more kicks in the air and stopping the return guy before the 20. Sure it gives an advantage to put the ball in the endzone, but if a coach thinks he can better their defensive field position, they will attempt to do so. The rule is another way to add ammo for an 18 game schedule. If that is the case, just do away with kickoffs all together and force every team start from the 20 or 25 each possession.

I like the replay rule. I believe the college way is still the best, but it is a step in the right direction.
