Don't expect much to happen as a result of this, but it is nice for the players to stick it to the owners for the time being.

Though it is not getting a whole lot of play, but this is very intriguing especially with the draft starting in just over 48 hours.

Here's what interests me. Many players have a clause that says they get paid X if they show up for Y % of OTAs. If the owners have locked the player out and the judge rules the lockout illegal aren't the clubs going to be liable for the bonuses to these players? How can I earn my bonus if I'm locked out from the facility where I earn my bonus? Two players mentioned today had bonus figures of $500k+.

If you can trust Twitter, Liz Mullen just tweeted the following:

Breaking--Judge Nelson in NFL Lockout case: "Defendants’ motion for a stay pending appeal is DENIED."

Joe Reedy tweeted that it now goes to the 8th Circuit COA.

Wouldn't be surprised if there's a clause that states while in a contract dispute that all incentives, such as attendance at OTA's, are put on hold. Heck, that may be what the owners are doing. Just stalling to save a couple of mil...

No way that two groups of people that make a substantial amount of money are going to agree that their "little" salaries and/or "little" profit is better than no money at all. Even if it may not look like it's 100% about money, it's 100% about money.

When it gets right down to it, it's about owners not wanting folks to get a look at their books.

I feel like I might have a pretty good idea of what those books look like and they DEFINITELY don't want the public getting a look at them. Though for all the public money professional sports teams receive, we certainly ought to.
