    Colts @ Titans

Here's your upset special for the week.

The Titans will beat the Colts in Nashville Sunday.

They beat them last year at home, and I expect them to do it again. I think they'll be able to run the ball and control the clock on offense and on defense I think they'll minimize the big play and make Indy drive the ball down the field. The combination will shorten the game and limit the number of possessions. I think the Titans will win another close game down the stretch, just like last year.

^I love the Titans, so most will probably accuse me of being a homer here, but I fully expect them to win this game. They did it last year and I think they'll do it again. They have a nice 1-2 punch with Brown and White, and then Vince Young is just a winner. Plus, I think he has the athleticism to frustrate Freeney and Mathis in the pass rush, make some plays with his legs to keep drives alive, which will help the Titans control the ball and clock and hopefully wear the Colts defense down. (Hopefully, VY won't get beheaded by Bob Sanders.) I don't necessarily think the Titans defense will shut the Colts down, but I do think Fisher knows how to play against them. I think they'll force the Colts to drive down the field by eliminating big plays.

I may be totally wrong. Indy may come out on fire and win 42-0, but I just have a strong hunch Tennessee will get it done at home. They ran for 282 yards @ Jacksonville and the Jags have one of the best defenses in the league. Their run defense is especially stout because they probably have the best pair of DT's in the NFL with John Henderson and Marcus Stroud. If the Titans can roll up almost 300 yards on the ground against that defense on the road, I think they can have some success against the Colts at home.

I can't wait to find out.

I also love the Titans and have for a while. I started liking them when they sucked so ppl couldnt acuse me of being a bangwagon jumper. I agree they have a good shot at beating the Colts. No matter how good the Colts are the Titans always seem to play tough and have their number. VY will give them troubles but he has to find a go to guy at WR to throw to. I hope like heck the Titans win.

Because of Tony Dungee and how he carries himself with class I hope that the Colts win.

I was a huge Houston Oiler fan back when Glanville was the coach and Warren Moon was running the run-and-shoot...I've suffered through blowing a 32-point lead at Buffalo in the playoffs, a John Elway game-winning 4th quarter drive in the playoffs, and coming one-yard short of sending a Super Bowl game into OT. It's going to be super sweet when Vince Young leads them to a Super Bowl title in the future.

The Titans are my team. It's nice to see them getting back in the game after some lean years.

    From ESPN INSIDER:

    Scouts' Edge

The Titans split with the Colts in 2006, losing by one point on the road and winning by a FG at home. They should have won both meetings. While that was last year, the major players remain similar. Tennessee's Schwartz does an excellent job of mixing his blitz packages and coverages, which has slowed the Colts offense in the past and kept them below the 20-point mark in both games last season. The Titans will need that type of defensive game plan and performance this week. Tennessee will be able to run the ball and that will be huge as it tries to control the clock. However, when you play the Colts you need some explosive plays in the passing game and the Titans just do not have playmakers on the outside. The Colts are more rested having played last Thursday, while the Titans are coming off a physical game vs. Jacksonville. It is tough to go against the Colts here, but the Titans are the tougher and more physical football team. We will go with the Colts, but would not be at all shocked to see an upset in a game that will be a lot closer than some experts expect.
    Prediction: Colts 24, Titans 20

Colts got the scouts edge in all but the LB column.

Colts are rested and always tougher at the beginning of the season. I would take the Colts by 10 in this one...

Vince shouldn't throw more than 15 passes in this game.
