They've also gotten some "big names" to write there, but potential readers are going to be drawn by the quality of the content, not the resumes of the authors. Considering the price tag of those resumes, I think that is a mistake.
    I've enjoyed the longer features. Wright Thompson had done some others in recent months of a similar vein that were quite good.

    Ultimately, it seems it's being done as a way to position ESPN.com as more of a direct competitor to SI in the long-form features market.
