  1. Milton is the real deal and a freak athlete so I dont know the young men you are taking about but hard for me to believe if they are even half as good as Milton that they are sharing time! Milton is one of the best in high school football regardless of class both athletically and as a young man. He does things on the football field that honestly looks like you made your own player on Madden and he effortlessly runs down the field. No disrespect to anyone else but a lot of love for Milton. Fun to watch!!!!
  2. @Toothpick you are a class guy and I really enjoy reading your posts! You are a Cardinal at heart but have great unbiased perspective on high school football. Appreciate your insight and you are always welcomed at CAL.
  3. Please note Averagejoesgym that none of the talk is coming from CAL football families but others. We are just enjoying our ride with this team and coaching staff and enjoying the moment! As a parent to beat both Desales and Mayfield back to back is euphoric, as both are great teams and programs.
  4. I almost wish CAL wasn't playing Friday night so that I could go see this game. The thread and posts have got me excited for game time!! Not to disrespect anyone but Desales is ultra talented and have players that are legit in any class, as I am sure Monroe is also. Got to cheer for our district teams...go Colts!
  5. Bumps and bruises from my understanding but of course I have a 15 year old so it is pulling teeth to get anything out of him!!
  6. @ColtPride I have read the post and keep hearing you say turnovers beat Desales and if that then this and yawn (your word) we have done this in the past! I love your confidence in your team but this is a new year with new players and turnovers are part of the game so give the CAL defense some credit. We have several freshman and first year players that as of now have never lost to Desales but still respect them. I have not read or seen one post on this site of a CAL parent or fan disrespecting desales, so for you to do that and make excuses for your team is no different from other disrespecting desales which is getting you upset. Hopefully both our teams will make it to round 3 and then the teams can determine who moves on based on this years talent not past years. @bigshow make no mistake desales has talent and can play, anyone that says different is just trying to start stuff!! Still waiting to buy you some concessions
  7. @Toothpick thanks for the nice words. I look forward to seeing you during the playoffs. Win or lose for CAL we will be at the Mayfield game when they play our bracket. @Birdseed you are correct Milton is a special athlete and an even better young man.
  8. Kind words, he got laid out on a good legal hit by Franklin player. Went to nuerologist this morning and checked out alright. Will follow return to play protocol but thankfully alright. CAL has one of the best trainers around!!
  9. @Toothpick and Mayfield group. It was a pleasure meeting you guys tonight and you guys are first class!! Great luck the rest of the season.
  10. @bigshow, we are being friends with every post. Selfishly I hope you are right but i would be surprised if either team scores 21 points! I got refreshments ready!!! Also, I really appreciate the positive and fun dialogue we have on this thread. I have read some aweful stuff in the blogs and posts from people that makes me think this is more about them than the game. Love to meet anyone tonight at CAL!!
  11. Great posts!! @bigshow no adult beverage as I am one of those non drinking baptist but I would buy you one and have a soda with you. You have many valid points. @Coltcity I really appreciate the kind words about Austin but coach Stefan puts him in situations and throws to be successful, along with some of the best receivers I have seen..hope they play basketball too!! I along with the group can't wait till Desales field is complete, will add to the fun of the next four years. CAL plays a lot of underclassmen and they are getting better each game..not sure if they are to the point of Desales this year but I know they won't give up or in to the challenge.
  12. Great insights but it is funny to me that you would say it is colt offense against cal defense when CAL with arguably the tougher schedule is averaging 34 points a game and Desales is averaging 32 points game, but I realize that is your take. I think the team that makes the less mistakes get the win but should be fun. Also funny that we say it is bad blood and we have Desales parents/fans sitting on CAL side, doesn't sound hostile to me. Saying that my son is a freshman football player at CAL and has several friends that go to Desales, some of which play football. He is excited for the game atmosphere and being a part of it. I think as parents/fans we make it bad blood when at the end of the day it is just high school football and a sport our sons love to play. I would be glad to get together with any of the colt fans on game day and buy you some refreshments and enjoy the game.
  13. As a CAL fan/parent the Central game was a tough loss for us. 5 turnovers, 4 by the freshmen ofD which 3 were on special teams. We had every opportunity to win and couldn't capitalize. This weeks game will be good to see if they are continuing to get better and learn from coach as a team. The real test is next week, as Desales is the real deal.
  14. I will take Austin from Glasgow and garner OCath
