  1. From the KHSAA website: TOP 20 RUSHING LEADERS (playing a minimum of 8 games) (ranked by net yards rushing average) Player School Gms Att Yds TD Avg Brandon Troxell McCreary Central 10 170 2194 25 219 Cory Smith Hazard 13 263 2561 36 197 WanDale Robinson Western Hills 11 165 2015 28 183 Myles Hurst Jackson County 11 217 1927 18 175 Brody Johnson East Ridge 10 188 1746 27 175 Hunter Perdue Bullitt East 11 197 1918 20 174 Trajon Bright Mayfield 10 172 1635 23 164 Seth Johnson Shelby Valley 9 132 1467 17 163 Jayden Neace Perry Central 10 290 1614 16 161 Kent Phelps Paintsville 12 168 1922 31 160 Jordan Hampton Shelby Valley 10 215 1548 20 155 Daniel Caudill Edmonson County 10 225 1544 27 154 Jacob Foley Garrard County 11 269 1674 21 152 Brandon Leff Spencer County 12 191 1812 18 151 Vonn Williams Owensboro Catholic 12 235 1772 19 148 Dalton Cook Lynn Camp 10 148 1469 14 147 Joe Jackson Johnson Central 13 143 1872 29 144 Demond Johnson Muhlenberg County 9 150 1260 10 140 Landon Board Owensboro 13 196 1805 25 139 Dillon Wheatley Lex. 2. OK, so let's try this, someone make a new thread and we as posters can make an "not on the list" All -State team. Comprise it of those worthy but not chosen for the CJ team or the all state team. Is there someone out there that would be interested in doing this?
  3. I don't know if Highlands is more like Alabama. Great tradition, multiple championships, and the team everyone wants to see get beat. Highlands seems like the Evil empire in 5A football, and I say that with respect. Bana is the same way. So many fans wanted to see them go down against Ohio St last year. Same thing this year. Highlands was in that position last year. I'm sure they will rebound like Bama too.
  4. Not all of have a 100 years of tradition. Pulaski only has been around in football for 32 years. So I think celebrating and commemorating big wins is absolutely fine. I think by you even saying that kind of an arrogant thing to say. I can understand being emotional after a big loss, but that is little petty. I have watched PC play at Highlands twice and left both times thinking that Highlands fans were nothing but class. I would like to continue thinking that way.
  5. After reading this thread, I spoke directly with Coach Hines. He did not realize that some would take his quote as an insult. He truly meant no ill will or bashing of the Highlands QB. Since he does not read or post on message, he ask if I would post on his behalf and say he apologizes if he offended anyone. It was not his intention to down anyone but to say his QB is up there with those who are getting D-1 looks. He understands the tale-of-the-tape. He understands that Riley doesn't have the measurables. But he has try continue to sell this young man. That what he said he meant by that.
  6. That may have been what I read.I hadn't really had my second cup of coffee before i posted, but it was really part repsonse and part general statement.
  7. I have to say, I think in high school football schedules are a bit irrelevant. Teams do not get to pick their districts or regions. The talk that PC played this weak schedule may be true but they had to play a few of those teams. As BG and other winning programs can attest, it is not easy to make schedules when you are winning. There are certain teams PC has to play for geographic reasons (for $$$). My opinion, it isn't who you play but how you handle your competition.
  8. After reading the pregame post and now reading all the post game posts, my question is, Was Highlands schedule really tough and that is why they lost those games, or is it because they were down? I thought they were very good team and equally as talented Pulaski. So, is it that Highlands Sturges winning when they aren't obviously the most talented team on the field? #8, 54, 55 ,74 10 were all studs for HHS. Just wondering. Also big shout out to HHS administration and game managers. Nothing but class. Definitely know how to host a high school football game.
  9. Strength of schedule can be as misleading as any stat out there. Play tough competition, get beat bad, but you can say "hey we played a tough schedule". I don't think so. If you are competitive on that tough schedule -even win one you weren't supposed to- then maybe yes, BUT if you have 3 running clocks and getting hammered, then you became the weak part of someone elses schedule, and you did not help yourself at all.
  10. Pulaski vs Wagoner 2003 Down 35 with about 9 minutes left if memory serves. Won 82-68. Thought they were going to have to bring in new refs to finish the game, as much running they had to do in this game. Fun to watch.
  11. I agree, the measurables are what get you in the door. You have to have the skills once you are there. Without those measurables, it is an uphill climb to get noticed and recruited. If someone has size and speed but raw skill, some coaches will take you just as a project, for the "upside."
  12. The aerial view of the field is an old pic from about 5 years ago. The field is in much worse shape now.
  13. The Maroons get to make the trip across Hwy 80 once again this week, this time to visit N Laurel. After last weeks scare @ S. Laurel will Coach Hines have his team in the right frame of mind? They seemed to let up quite a bit in the 2nd 1/2 last week. I say Pulaski is finshed overlooking anyone & the Maroons flex their muscle in this 1, beating NL 46-20. Good Luck PC.
  14. This is an unfortunate incident which is becoming a big problem across the state - the lack of quality referees. I was an official for several years and I try to encourage everyone that I feel has a solid football background to call games in their area. It is a thankless job and yes many times games can look like they are onesided. I used to joke that I was from where ever I was calling that night. I don't think these officals were "homers" I think they were not very good and have not worked on the mechanics of calling a game. It is more than knowing the rules and what to call, but how to call a game. I was taught to let the players decide the game. The best games are the ones that you don't notice the refs. I also know that when things aren't going well for a team, the refs can be a viable scapegoats. I don't believe that Mad. Southern didn't deserve ALL of those 175 yards called, and from reading this, it sounded like a loss of control and frustration led to many of those yards. I think that as a fan you can only see the calls that went against your team or the ones that they missed that would have helped your team. and so it goes...
  15. Talk about a crazy finish! Score tied @ 26, PC was @ 49 yard line of SL, just over 1 min. to go, 4th & 11. Chris Muse, who had dropped back to punt, fumbled the snap. In all the confusion, & SL baring down on him, Muse gets outside & goes 49 yds for the go ahead TD. SL drives to PC 9 yd line, 1st & goal w/ under 1 min. to go only to turn it over on downs w/ :30 to go. The Maroons struggled on D in the 2nd half, but played well enough to get the win.
