Listen, Im as Elliott as it gets.. trust me.....Coach Adkins is an awesome coach. I never played for Coach Mays, nor have I had any family member play for him. However, as an ECHS alumni as well as another somewhat big role in ECHS, I will say that Coach Mays does not hold a candle to Coach Adkins. Coach Adkins is the most humble, good natured man you will ever meet. It took Coach Mays almost 30 years to win a region championship, or even a district championship. It has taken Coach Adkins five years. Nothing against Coach Mays, but we will take our Coach any day of the week over any in the state. We at ECHS are all so proud of what he has done with our boys. And thanks Professer for your congratulations to us and our coach. Means a lot!!!!

Yes it's a great debate. Myself, I choose talent over coaching any day. However I do think when someone else is at the helm from what a team is used to, it brings about a different dynamic from the team. Motivation, consistency, having that one person you depend on every game for an answer in the heat if the game means a lot. In no way whatsoever am I saying that Coach Adkins absence was the reason Elliott lost; Wolf played a great game and Coach Creach was on top of every play. I'm just saying in general having someone different on the bench can play games with a persons mind and emotions.
