  1. The comments being made by the Boone coach have no place in soccer. These comments were not being made to players but were being made while questioning the referees decisions. From the beginning of the game the coach was harassing the referees on every call they made and didn't make. At one point during the game an offsides call was made and the coach didn't like the call. He accused the referee of making the call due to the players skin color. I looked at the person sitting next to me and asked them if they heard the same thing I did and we both said that we must have misheard him. Why would a high school coach say something like that? I then talked to some of the players after they game and they confirmed that the coach was making these types of comments. As a program who was making headlines earlier in the year about how many different nationalities they have, about how inclusive and accepting they are, the Boone coach has taken all of that and thrown it out the window.
  2. Where's this game being played at? I heard Holmes doesn't have a field at the moment.
  3. Soccer is allowed 3 scrimmages in the preseason. Bluegrass counts as 1 and Soccerama counts as 1.
  4. And with the 43rd overall pick in the MLS Superdraft, the Colorado Rapids select Chris Frouchauer from (THE) Ohio State University. Congrats Chris and I hope to see you between the pipes when you travel to Columbus in May.
  5. Congrats to Cov Cath, it was a well deserved win and title. Only issue I have is with the players elected to the All-Tournament team. Romes and Darpel were well deserved. They shut out Fern Creek, and Henry Clay and held Trinity to one goal. Day, although he is a great player, is he really the MVP? Day had a pk saved and a 1-on1 with the keeped saved in the final. This doesn't exactly scream MVP. If anyone I thought it should have been Lamb. 2 goals with 1 assist against Fern Creek and 2 goals with 1 assist in the state final. He was involved in all the goals Cov Cath had in the final but can't get any love from his coaches for the all-tournament team.
  6. Scott 2 -1 Holy Cross. Holy Cross takes the lead with about 15 minutes left in the game. Goal came off a set piece and scored by Doggett. Scott scores 2 goals in the last 7 or so minutes. Morgan with 1 goal and 1 assist. Not sure who scored the second for Scott.
  7. A short drive up the hill for Holy Cross. Scott seems to be playing without their starting keep. Also notice that Scott has a new coach for this game. Any info on what the coaching change is about? Is it a permanent change?
  8. Soccer does use arbiter. Most of the scheduling is done well in advance of the season. I believe the schedule is mostly done between coaches with the AD stepping in if there are issues with field availability.
  9. Look at what Cooper did to NCC during the regular season... Cooper went down to Morscher and beat them 2-0. Cooper being the only team in district 33 to BEAT NCC and also started a skid of 4 losses out of 5 games. However, their former coach was able to rally the team, turn things around, and get wins when the season was coming to an end. He was able to motivate his boys to beat teams down south such as Woodford Co., Madison Central, and North Hardin. He was close to upsetting Cov Cath in the regional tournament. But who cares what happened last year, I can't wait for this year to begin.
  10. 1. Cov Cath 2. Brossart 3. St. Henry 4. Ryle 5. NCC 6. Scott 7. Cooper 8. Highlands 9. Conner 10. Campbell County Dark Horse - Holy Cross They are returning several starters from last year and should have a solid defense. Enzweiler and Krumpelman are both solid players to keep an eye on. While they will most likely not win their district, with a little luck they may make a regional run this year. Ryle - May have a chip on their shoulder from last year. I would assume that they will want to prove something this year. Cooper ranked a little lower than most people. I agree with flops&hacks in that there seems to be a lack of leadership on the pitch. They lost a leader in Williams and it will be difficult to fill his shoes. I also noticed that they were have an issue finding the net. I went back to last year and they scored 14 goals in their last 8 games (8 of these goals were against St. Francis and Calvary). They only found the back of the net once in post season play, which was a mishandle by the keeper in the mud pit called Boone County field. I think its going to be tough to come close to what they did last year. NCC - Not ranked as high as DBLYELLOW wants them to be, but they will be a solid team. I think they may find it hard to put the ball in the back of the net. It's going to be hard to replace Louis, Freppon, and Hensley but I think they have a solid season. Oh by the way, DBLYELLOW congrats on your regional bid before the season starts. Maybe you can rest all that talent you keep talking about so you can be prepared for that regional run.
  11. Hearing more rumours concerning Scott, CCH, and Highlands may be in the market for new coaches.... not sure how much truth there is to this though
  12. Scott 4 - 2 Bowling Green.... in the yellow card category
  13. Now that the season is over for all but one nky team.... Are there any coaching changes that may be happening for next year? I've heard that NCC will be looking for a new coach....
