  1. Want to wish Coach the best and a very happy retirement. Sounds like an awesome plan to me and he deserves it.
  2. I knew it took a while to get things from the postal service now days (what with lay offs and all) but DADGUM the delivery service has taken a while! He must have gotten lost in the mail!! You know, like how just one sock ends up missing after you've done a load of laundry or how you never seem to be able to find the right amount of hangers cause just one is missing!!
  3. Yes. X battled tonight very well and was quite effective. I'm proud of all of them...they left no regrets and played with tons of heart this week! I can't wait so see what next year holds!! (No people I haven't lost it totally, I know we loose Omar and Ty and I wish they could stay forever but the kids coming back will work just as hard in the off season if there even is one any more.)
  4. I'm proud of the boys tonight. They played their hearts out the whole tournament and made a little school history in the process. The play was physical and while I do love a physical game as when I played if you didn't draw blood, there wasn't a foul...it did at times get out of hand. (Please keep in mind I said "at times.") My only concern during games such as this is the safety of the players involved. Otherwise, bring it on honey!! As with Omar, he is a candidate for Mr. Basketball for a reason and trust me, his college (if they are smart) will treat him to several jars of peanut butter or an all you can eat buffet I pray he does well there.
  5. Yeah, I know a parent when I see one and I call it as I see it. Just because it says I've only posted a limited amount of times it doesn't mean I haven't been here for years...just means I decided to reactivate my account. I stand up for what I believe in and don't think I'm not gonna come out swinging if I get backed into a corner. EVERY kid deserves to be cheered on and cared about in this region, not just the special ones. Wonder why our schools aren't what they used to be? Take a look at parental involvement in the schools and how they are mentored within the communities as a whole. It's not what it use to be ten years ago. Pride in the region teaches these kids to care about each other even when others don't. It teaches them someone cares past the faces they see in the halls so YEAH I'm gonna stick up for these kids. If that makes me a jerk, so be it! I don't really care because I know it's what God wants of me and our region!! Have a great day sir.
  6. BINGO! Some of us prefer to live on the bright side of life. I am no exception and I make no apologies. I give credit where it's due and I correct when it's not. I was born and raised in this great state and I've been around a very long time. I'm not new to the game of basketball and like most on here I've paid my dues. I also know a grumbling sore loser when I meet one. Your main grumble as is kings is that the 10th region winners are part of the Elite 8! The fact of the matter is that if it were another school still in it from the region I would have posted because part of having "pride in your region" is cheering on every team from that region...not just your favorites. It's about sportsmanship and class and having your region's back...or atleast it was way back in the day. Having said my piece...GRC and Montgomery should be fun to was again.
  7. Because I thought there was a real story...not just something to make the losers feel good. Get over your pity party and teach your friends something new. We can all get along if we learn a little pride for the region and respect for the game.
  8. How about we finish the season we are in first before we go "counting chickens before they hatch." For the love of all things basketball, it's Christmas Day (week) for basketball lovers and you wanna skip right over it!! Some of us live for this, let us live a little before you go pronouncing the season dead.
  9. Oh my word! You all crack me up. I adore these! They are SO much better than the real things! I vote we submit these for the districts since some weren't willing to "play well with others" this year!!
