  1. First of all congrats to Highlands the earned the win with a great second half. It's amazing what adrenaline can do for you. Boyle has too many guys going both ways and yet nobody is gassed when they are winning. Having two score lead on the number one team in 4A and there is no fatigue. But after a couple turnovers (one of the wishbone guys went the wrong direction deep in own territory) (qb being pulled from behind got to tuck the ball away) all of a sudden the depth becomes a huge factor. The body quickly stops producing so much adrenaline because of change of momentum. Kudos for the Highland coaching staff with the no-huddle and subbing 4 and 5 players almost every play in second half. Really hammered boyle weaknesses like they should. Congrats again to the birds and I hope we get to see you again in November.
  2. I think Danville's depth will be an issue this season. Could be wrong but I think it will.
  3. I watched the Danville Anderson scrimmage. If SK can throw the ball they can beat Danville. Danville is big up front and has some athletes in the secondary but play undisciplined. Ford is best LB. Alcorn throws a better deep ball than last year but struggles on the short outs and crossing routes. Of course it was a scrimmage and Anderson lost EVERYTHING and is terrible.
  4. Varsity barely played just over 2 quarters. JV most of the 3rd and Frosh the whole 4th. They ran, ran and ran. Boyle had to play like they were playing the best team in the state for at least 2 qtr's because next fri they do !! They actually cleared the scoreboard at halftime just for the reasons you are talking about. At the start of the second half it read 0 - 0. One of the jv td's was a dlineman who stripped the rb and returned it for a td. I understand what you are saying but you can't ask freshmen to take a knee and not run plays.
  5. Most of Boyle's scrimmages are by coach associations. When the scrimmages were set a couple of years ago Rowans HC was Shadon Brown who was an assistant at Boyle and Rowan also has a coach this is a brother to one our longtime assistants.

  10. I miss those games. Three of the best games. Second one was one of the best I've ever watched.
  11. Five weeks till scrimmage. FIVE !!!
  12. I know those coaches very well and will be surprised it they are not very good.
