10 Good
  1. Due to injuries, Creek played the entire second half with only 4 starters on defense. Dunbar didn't give up, however the overall talent and depth disparity was evident.
  2. In defense of Harmon, Creek has been in very rough shape for awhile, he has done wonders with this group in his 3rd year. Had same type of turnaround success at Lafayette. Playoffs....we will see, lots of games left.
  3. Clark County is looking really good. Whipped Bryan Station in the opener and doubled up Montgomery County this week. Last year Clark beat Henry Clay (who had 5 turnovers), Lafayette (who went up 10-0 then blanked in the 2nd half), and Tates Creek (in a monsoon) but lost to Dunbar...? They appear to have a speed guy or two, but after watching the Station film seem simply like a solid cohesive unit on both sides. IMO neither Clark nor Tates Creek has faced real competition as of yet. If Scott County is actually down this year (0-2), then the next real game for both may not be until October 15th when they play each other. (no disrespect intended to Dunbar, West Jessamine who is avg 50 pts, and Madison Central)
  4. No argument here. I do not think Lexington has recovered from the dilution of adding 3 more high schools to the city (Dunbar, LCA, Catholic). With Catholic and LCA getting better over the years more and more players went there, combined with the fact that not as many kids play football anymore. With that said Lafayette lost its starting QB in preseason, Clay has been without V Miller and C Gardner, Dunbar and Station don't have much, LCA lost it's core group and Catholic's best players are underclassmen, less the LT.
  5. Tates Creek could have won by a much larger margin. Creek had at least 4 lost fumbles within the 30. Station scored a late touchdown against 2nd unit. Creek defense actually held Station O to negative yards first quarter however putting the ball on the ground so many times kept Station around. No doubt Lex football is down, however the Creek defense is very big and fast. Several kids getting D1 looks. Lafayette scored on special teams and was held to 59 yards rushing, Shelby was blanked in a rout and Station struggled to move the ball against first teamers. We will see how it goes from here, thus far Creek is on top.
  6. Doubt very seriously McKee is on the hot seat. Skilld-Kid is correct in that Scott County pays for teams to play. I know one city team who denied to accept the money this year and Scott will be coming to Lexington.
  7. Last year Station beat Creek 35-18 with 279 yards rushing. This year Tates Creek boasts one of the fastest defenses in 6A giving up about 100 yards total in two games. Station has UK commit Darrian Miller, Evan Talbert, and Tim Hayden. Creek has D-linemen Jamal Wagner (Cincinnati lean), Tadaris Jemison, and Aaron Mullins (Top 100 Underclassmen MVP) At linebacker Creek has 4 year starter Jonny Meadors and Top 50 Junior (Courier Journal) Kalin Poe (several D1 schools). Any thoughts?
