  1. Blah blah blah...Wayne county is undefeated and will probably finish second over corbin in their district, may even push bell. I guess Ohio State shouldn't play akron, UK shouldn't play Western, etc etc etc. A few years ago before the 6A split all these teams would have been in 3A together or at worst 3a and 4a. Norths schedule advances nicely really, two easy wins, a couple tougher 3A schools, Next week Russell County who is really really really good 4A school... then Murderer's row district time: Arch Rival South, Pulaski, Southwest Pulaski. You show complete ignorance for your last statement haha. Besides, who has McCreary played? Oh wait...1A Pineville...Oh wait ZERO A Knott county, a team that has not won in two years...and Taylor, did they win a game last year? North plays in an extememly hard district where you have 6 teams and actually have to WIN YOUR WAY into the playoffs....and if you make it you have to play Harlan, Perry, Letcher or Whitley...all four good programs. When you play a district schedule like that and play opposite teams like that, you have to adjust your schedule accordingly.
  2. I was at this game. There were MANY unsportsmanlike on BOTH teams. Almost all of them were off setting penalties. One of McC's guys got sent out of the game and another one took his shoulder pads off on the sideline. One on McCreary Central was for an eye gouge!! McCreary finished with negative rushing yards I was told by the radio guy after the game. North had to have over 400 yards tonight. North looked like they were ready to run through a wall after half time. I think they may have come out a little flat in the beginning. They were anything but flat after the half!
  3. North will be very very young. Pretty sure at the end of the year they had a freshman starting at QB. I think both their backs last year were seniors too.
  4. http://www.journalnet.com/article_d5dda934-feac-11df-acc3-001cc4c002e0.html Is this the same guy? Sounds like he got screwed over at Idaho State. I wonder what kind of offense and defense he will run.
  5. I heard some kids didn't get to play, how does that happen, especially in a bowl game the kids have to pay a small fee to participate.
  6. How many do they have lifting? I heard they had really low n umbers at the end of the Season, no Head Coach can't be helping matters much.
  7. Whitley plays in a much tougher district than SW. They (whitley) are built for the playoffs. Tough schedule. Strong run game. Should keep doing well.
  8. Old school rivalry renewed tonight? Mboro has looked great at times this year, but Corbin is young, hungry, plays HARD and is just too well coached. Corbin 41 Mboro 14 (but its close at the half)
  9. PCC is good, but has loaded up on cupcakes and looks a whole lot better than they really are. Not to mention they played 7 home games this year. Harlan is for real, and they have lost a bunch of players to injury. Imagine what they'd be with their starting MLB and RB :o Clay vs Harlan will be a big big big game.
  10. Research: North Travel milage in new district: 155 miles. Travel milage if they change to the other (perry) district 250 miles. North would had almost 3 hours time on a bus. South Travel milage in new district: 170 miles. Travel milage if they change would be 245. South would drive almost 2 hours more. Whitley in the proposed district would be about 295. In the other district would be 260. Whitley would save at most an hour and cost the laurels five. perry's proposal makes no sense. So you are going to make 2 schools drive almost 100 miles EACH more to save 30 miles in another school? Makes no sense North is ON THE SAME EXIT AS THE SOMERSET SCHOOLS, if anything it makes no sense for South to be in that district instead of North...and no sense for whitley to drive all the way to berea Whitley would pass both North and South laurels just to get to any other team in the district. Also, if you have ever been to williamsburg, Whitley is definitely a mountain school, so it makes sense for them to be in a mountain district. __________________________________________________________________________ It makes no sense why Perry and Hazard don't play....talk about a natural rivalry..... ________________________________________________________________________ I don't question JC's schedule...what I do question is the coaches around them...PLAY LOCAL TEAMS...don't run from JC....play them or don't gripe about "can't find a game" "can't fill the schedule" I just picked them because they had sumbitted a response _________________________________________________________________________ Not sure who would be gunning to make sure letcher gets a birth??? _____________________________________________________________________ I didn't call out other teams.....I pointed out that those teams had called out others in their public official response to the KHSAA (See Simon Kenton)
  11. Casual or no, this is a who to play issue. Take the Perry example. There are teams right there to play in the county. Plenty of teams within 45 minutes of PCC. Why Force Whitley to drive further to get to the other district? or the Laurels? It would actually ADD to Perry's travel time!!! Their other district opponents would not change. I wonder if South being winless and North only having 2 wins had anything to do with it...hmmmmmmmmm Why not just suck it up and play Hazard, Breathitt or some closer schools..... Take the simon kenton example...total difference of less than a mile? I'm sure that what...a dollar...that will save them over the year is REALLY the issue there. Come on....just go with it. I think its also crazy to look so far ahead to the semi-finals for away games....i mean, there are other scenarios where you would play a closer team...that late, there are always people travelling long distances. Yes, Bell-PT is extreme, but sometimes things work out weird. SOME examples are probably true....Western Hills seems to be....I mean they said "put us in a harder higher class /district" but these other examples are CLEARLY because they don't want to play highlands/local tougher schools. It shouldn't change, its probably not going to change, its good the way it is. People are just going to have to suck it up and play local tougher competition.
  12. Suck it up man. So cowardly. All these teams that say "can't fill my schedule" mean we "can't find cupcakes and may have to play good local teams" Johnson central....lots of teams over near ashland...plenty of local teams around you...just look for local high schools and convince them to play...You are supposed to be an up and coming program...CHALLENGE highlands don't RUN from them Perry Central...why not play Hazard instead of or in addition to knott county...Hazard is in your county!!! Don't throw three other teams under the Bus (NL, SL, Whitley). Why DOUBLE their travel time (3 schools) when you could play in your county? You can make a schedule...heck, you have a guaranteed playoff birth!!! Scared of the local teams? Simon Kenton...you are supposed to be an "elite" public school program...lexington is not that far (.05 miles less...seriously?) That is about as petty as it gets. And to throw two other teams under the bus? Why force a struggling Ohio County team (1 win, 3 years!?!~?!~?!) to play even BETTER competition so YOU can be happy.... Bell County....since when is where you play play in the semifinals a problem with scheduling haha... YOU ARE IN THE SEMI FINALS!~!!!!!...Your district is a mountain district and you are in it with Corbin....Seems you'd be chomping at the bit instead of looking at the semifinal game....seriously? What ever happened to just playing whats in front of you....anyone can make a a shedule...sure it may not be easy games, but when you are a GOOD program you should play the GOOD teams. I love Corbin's repsponse... Check the box, move on, play. Everyone just needs to DEAL WITH IT Just play...jeez And if you mention another team in your response....well you should be forced to play away games vs Trinity, St. X and Highlands and not be allowed to bring your starters....Twice a year.
  13. Marcoryeon - now that's a great name. Sounds like a gladiator or a Greek god or something.
