  1. Henry wouldn't be looking for a new head coach if they would have hired Ledford last year. Should he still be interested they may not want to drag their feet any longer and give him the job. He has past head coaching experience, knows defense and real college playing experience.
  2. Always harping on the playing schedule/strength is a knock at the staff. There are games we have to play and games we go after. Now with the redistricting all the local schools are playing each other as district foe's as it should be. While the ultimate goal is a title run getting severely beat and a losing record year after year does nothing for moral or brining kids out. We have to have numbers in football. It's not like basketball or baseball where you can have just a couple dominating and good players to lead the team. A good running back or receiver can't do anything without the o-line giving the QB time to connect with the receiver or make holes from the RB to hit. Schools have to take stepping stones to get to that level. Should you have the solution to the scheduling issue then please enlighten everyone, but you can't come back and post negative comments and ridicule when numbers drop, kids are beat up, tired, negative, losing record and want to throw the towel in. Continuing to post about what we need to do or how to do it doesn’t do anything to improve anything. While I agree I probably can't compare years coaching experience as I'm just getting started and the other I don't have to argue about!
  3. PS: Shoud you be able to come up with some resources so we can get some of those players to come to our schools like the private schools do then let us know.
  4. Well redsfan I read it. I have to agree with the article stating that we had 3-4 mistakes that impacted our game. The blocked punt, turnover, interception and HC fumble that they got back. However, should you have the solution from the blue seats or hunter’s ridge then shut it. When you put in as much time as the coaching staff puts in (year round) then you and every other arm chair QB in the stands or reading the paper the next day then you can have an opinion. On the schedule issue that you have pointed out. What’s the difference when the basketball and baseball teams play the same teams and lose to them? What’s your explanation then? Also, let’s talk about how basketball and your beloved baseball team plays those same schools 3-4 times in the regular season then again in districts. If you win you tout how great your team/season is. So what's the difference? what will be you issue next year when all of these teams on our schedule will be moving to 2A next year and in our district. So if we play all CAL, Desails type teams all 10 games next season and the seasons after that and end up 1-9 or 0-10 what’s our chances of fielding enough kids to even have a team the years to follow. How productive is that for the program, school or community. How about you and everyone else like you stay in your cul-de-sac with your inexperienced opinions and let the coaches put in all the work to make our program, school and community something to be proud of.
  5. It makes no sense to me for football teams play the same team twice in a season unless they meet in playoffs somehow. However, why is it ok for basketball and baseball to play same teams 3,4,5 times and beat all same ones over and over and call it a winning season.
  6. Was just naming schools as independents. Nothing more.
  7. I was meaning schools in larger populations such as NKY and L'ville area where kids can choose to attend several different schools like Beechwood, Highlands, Bellevue. Its always fun playing the games and afterwards half the opposing team looks down at me and is larger then half the guys I played ball with. I guess now a days families/kids just happen to flock to these large metro areas/schools.
  8. I predict that private and independent schools (NKY and L'ville area) will do the most damange due to obvious reasons. The rest of us will work with what we got and bang out victories with what we are given to work with.
  9. Exactly skilld-kid. Seems like all state team is becoming more political and a who you know type thing. Seen a lot of good teams and kids this year not on the list. Teams and kids that went deep into the playoffs and even title games. I'm thinking if you got 1 or lets say 2 all staters on your team you may win more then 2-3 games a season. Happy for the ones who made the list. Taking nothing away from them. For those who didn't thats just more motivation and fuel to the fire.
