This would be SK's first win over a Coach Carr team in quite some time. Not a surprise that Scott is going thru some growing pains trying to replace a 3 year starter at the PG position. Smith was unique in that he could score 20 ppg and still have 7-8 assists. I think he was also Scott's 2nd leading rebounder from the PG position. What is even tougher to replace is that he was a tough little guy who was going to find a way to beat you. These kind of players don't come thru Taylor Mill very often and when you match up that type of player with a tough minded coach and you get a pretty good combination. No better coach to turn it around than Coach Carr. -
I hope Phil Martelli never wins another game.

Regardless of the "other" situation the student athlete has fulfilled the academic requirements set forth by the NCAA to be eligible for this waiver. For St Joes to state that this was for athletic reasons and not academic as a reason for not signing off is self serving. I wonder if they ask the same questions of the undergrad student athletes who transfer to St Joes? -
Covington Catholic 69 St. Xavier 49

That would be great except Ruthsatz only matched up with the St X PG maybe a third of the time and the St X guard got in the lane all night. Both PG's struggled with turnovers all night and it made for a really ugly basketball game. CovCath played well in the first half when they knocked down some shots but really struggled when St X turned up the pressure in the 2nd half. St X missed a whole lot of point blank layups as their bigs struggled to finish around the rim. Second time I have seen CovCath this season and impressed with their effort. Ruthsatz is a nice player for a soph and he can score the basketball from the PG spot. Defensively he is solid but not a lock down defender on the perimeter. His body style and game remind me a lot of Matt Trammell from Dixie. Looking forward to the district battles this year. -

Burger with 20 and Campbell with 19 for Holy Cross. Nick Jackson had 17 to lead Scott. Burger is playing as well as anyone in Northern Kentucky this year. Holy Cross has good depth and with the addition of Campbell they have legitimate size. District games should be interesting. -

Brossart sees it a couple of times per year from Scott. Should be business as usual as they try to slow it down and keep pace that they are comfortable with. -

Saw a couple of these guys play this summer and offensively Scott should have no problems, especially with Ohmer adding the long ball to his repertoire. -

Ohmer and kramer will carry the load pitching, besides that whose the three and four guys in the rotation? This could be an early problem. -

Scott? -
CCA had some size last year to go along with a couple of solid guards and the 9th was way down last year. When I think about a team being able to compete in a region I considered the whole region not just the smaller schools that typically make up the back end of any region. Schoonover is very good and could start for any team in N Ky. Cleamons is solid but there are teams who he would not start for but he would be a contributor on any team. CCA is very good for the league they play in and there are some very good players statewide that play in that league but they are really, really spread out.

His son is in the eigth grade and know Jeff personaly, He's not the kind of guy who thinks his son is the greatest and will play him over others. He will make him earn it just like every other kid. -
