    BIG BLUE NATION
  1. A long way to go for what? They came up flat in a big game. Beechwood is a good team, the Devils have nothing to hang their heads about. 41-1 is pretty impressive at any level, to be the team that beat them and on Beechwoods court means to me that these Devils have in fact come a long way. Unfortunately the cycle of talent may be coming to an end with these Seniors, but Dilts and the Devils have restored some respectability. Good luck to both teams as both have a very tough game in the District.
  2. Great effort. Keep playing as a team and maybe a trip to Rupp is in store. Good Luck the rest of the season. DEsales came out and played a great game. Played patient on offense and pretty much dictated the pace ofthe game.
  3. Two classy team that played until the final buzzer. Hated to see one lose. Being a DHS parent makes makes me happy the public school drought is over. Shaun Meyer and Cody Collins were awesome in this game. You knew what you were gonna get from the stars but these guys made big plays at the end.
  4. Great list. Lets add Bryant McCarter and Corey and Justin Pelle from The Grove. Also Jeremy Wight from Bellevue. Also Jackson Capel from Heritage could be on the honorable mention list with these guys.
  5. Buddy, what in the world are you talking about? Obviously you did not go to the Dayton/Bellevue football game this year. Eckstein giving Ricky carries, up 5 touchdowns, now is that your idea of class? Or when he does everything he can to get Sullivan in the end zone to rub it in Dayton peoples faces, is that your idea of class? Or was it when Eckstein and some of his players were over there taking a leak in full view of everyone during halftime? Again, is that your idea of class? Obviously you have no idea what you're talking about. Although I feel bad for the Bellevue kids. I felt even worse for the Dayton kids when Eckstein, on purpose, ran his players through the Dayton players warming up before the game even started. So buddy get your facts straight before you start talking about sportsmanship. Also just a little bit of my opinion, if Eckstein had so much class he's still be at Ryle now wouldn't he!
  6. Dayton could definitely name the score against Bellevue. IMO Bellevue was undisciplined on offense and was content just throwing up 3s. Dayton to a man is the much better team. As much as I am not a fan of the Dayton Coach, he did a excellent job of subbing his players and also keeping his players under control in a volatile situation. If I remember correct Eastin sat on the bench for a long spell in the first half. The Devils seized control of the game without him. I am not sure if there first 9 guys are interchangeable but then again after last nite I am probably wrong. Also IMO Bellevue will be fine under Bo, he cares about those kids and he coached the entire game last nite.Maybe he could give Coach Eckstein a few pointers on sportsmanship and we would probably see more bench players at the end of these blowouts. Great Job by both student sections, absolutely hilarious.
  7. James Sullivan never was, nor never will be Daytons Best Player. A nice little player he was, but not someone you build a team around. Bellevue, by far is the better team, but lets not get carried away. And by the way, even us Old School Dayton fans cant wait to watch Ricky run, always a joy to watch the great ones.
  8. Obviously a Team Effort but it seemed like Conner Lewis made big play after big play. Anyone who knows Conner and how hard hes worked to become a real nice player would appreciate the points made in previous posts. Not a knock on the rest of the Devils but a tribute to the heart and soul of this years team, Lewallen and Lewis. Good point about Cody Turner, he did some real nice things, the two headed quarterback system may give this team a spark. Daytons own version of the Wildcat Offense.
  9. Taylor jumped out 20 to 0 lead on the GreenDevils and withstood a late charge by the GreenDevils. Dayton scored twice late to make the final 20-16. Great all around individual performance by Conner Lewis of Dayton. A guess would be at least 200 all purpose yards for Lewis. Defensively a nice effort by #70 for Dayton, he seemed to always be around the ball. For Taylor HS, it seemed like #28 had a real nice game running the ball. Had several long runs. Hard hitting game and great sportsmanship by both teams.
  10. No, Please overlook Dayton. This team returns talent and then with a chip on their shoulder will be a tough out in the 'A'.
  11. You mention nothing about being burned out. Just a personal decision you made. No simialarities to Fergusons situation.
  12. Dont know the kid personally. But WOW, how impressive is the Maturity level. The Dad is dead wrong there will be no regrets from this kid. Just the daily grind we all face of getting over the hill. This kid has it figured out.
  13. Noticed this same behavior at the All A finals. He did this once during a timeout during the second quarter run NCC went on. At first I thought this was the worst kind of sportsmanship I had ever seen. He then did it after the game, again same thoughts, poor sportsmanship. But during the postgame hand shakes he was hugging and congratulating each Newport player. He showed a genuine act of respect for Newports tough loss. That was a sign of a true great ambassador for not only the sport, but also the 'Breds as well. Good luck Coach Pangallo, may your enthusiasm keep you young forever.
