  1. Well...that rubbed me the wrong way. Shocker. Technically, they all "have a shot" or only the top five would be competing. I am a realistic person, but all do "have a shot".
  2. You would've recognized him...he'd be the one signing autographs ....he didn't get the good looks of the family but he is quite popular
  3. You can still chat with Coach Conley, Lawnboy, because he's still there. He only resigned from Fresh girls basketball---he is still helping with softball. :thumb:
  4. Lady Bears played good defense but left base runners on a few times, including once with bases loaded. We were simply unable to get the timely hits we needed.
  5. When our oldest daughter began pitching, we immediately MADE her wear a game face. She didn't like it. As a matter of fact, she was mad about it. And ask me if I cared that she was mad? Nope. Not one bit---in our house, kids don't decide important things like that. We did give her a choice...her choice was pitch with it or don't pitch---didn't wait for her to choose to wear it. The decision we made was in her best interest and if u ask her now, she'd tell you she'd never step on the mound without it because she's seen first hand a line drive to the chin (luckily with a game face on) It's a crazy risk for a girl to pitch without one. I don't care how many games someone's seen or been involved with...it only takes once and the result could be devastating. It should be mandatory. They have to wear helmets when they bat. What's the difference??? Other than stating the obvious that one is a rule and one isn't
  6. Brossart struck first by scoring one in the first, taking advantage of a fielding error and giving Anstead the opportunity to score the lead off with a base hit to right. The Lady Stangs increased their lead by scoring another run in the top of the third. In the fourth, Lady Bear first baseman, Makenzie Jefferson hit a shot to right center to clear the loaded bases, landing her on 2nd base and giving Lady Bears the 3-2 lead. Brossart tied it again in the fifth, but Bracken struck again in the 6th, plating a pair of runs. This would be enough as Lady Stangs offense was unable to produce any base runners in their last at bat. This game was a nail biter, just as I expected it to be. It was a far more competitive game than the final game...with no disrespect to Nicholas
  7. You must've eaten a bad hot dog or something at that game and gotten confused. Bracken's pitcher walked ZERO batters in the varsity game. Walton Verona had 3 maybe 4 hits. Bracken played solid defense in the field to hold off a very good Walton Verona team. There were two other area coaches there who could back my stats up.
  8. Good thing this is being played in Newport and not in Brooksville. We've gotten nearly two inches of snow within the last couple of hours lol.
