The Arena @ The David L. Williams Complex in Corbin

If the local economy of the 13th region is dependent on a town hosting the regional tourney every eight years then they are really in trouble. Not a good argument. I would much rather pay eight dollars and not have to leave the gym than pay five and take a chance on not getting admitted to the game. The price of concessions are too expensive like they are in most arenas..Then on the other hand no one is being forced to pay the high prices and can stop and eat either before or after. I would expect the crowds to pick up for the boys games and then then both sets of semi-finals and finals. I also like that the tourney is more centrally located in the region. Within ninety minutes of every school. -
Congrats to Kourtney Tyra

Kourtney will be sorely missed by the Lady Generals Fans. She will have a solid career at Georgetown. -
What was so suspect about Jackson County's competition. Played the top teams in the 13th. Clay, North, South, Corbin, Harlan County, Whitley with the exception of Middlesboro. Along with Rockastle, Wayne County, Breathitt County, Louisville Fairdale, Leslie county, Lexington Catholic, and East Jessamine. The blind draw thing has been beat into the ground. Until all teams agree to play twice it's a mute point. If you want to get on bandwagon why is the 49th being penalized with a five team district. It's a disadvantage for the three smaller schools. If I were Clay and North you'd be crazy not to seed because of numbers. The other three would be crazy to seed because of talent/numbers. Jc is about half the size of North/Clay with redbird/OBI being much smaller. It's a no-brainer.

Free throws Lex Cath shot 41 and Jackson County shot 47. JC played a 2-3 zone and Lex Cath played full court man. Naturally with contrasting defenses JC would shoot a few more free throws. Fouls were actually really close with both teams in the double bonus both halves. -

North laurel didn't mind the blind draw too bad last year when they drew OBI. Jackson County played very poorly but they are very capable of beating North Laurel. They missed a lot of wide open shots. -
North Laurel @ Jackson Co - Postponed

Yes. There was over six inches in the Jackson County area and administrators were afraid of slick condidtions and a possible re-freeze of roads after sundown. The reschedule date will be Sunday January 1th at 3/4:30. This was the only available primetime date. -

The NL @ Jackson County game originally scheduled for tonight has been moved to January 11th at 3/4:30. -
I'm not going to name any Clay County players but actually the video showed the first shove coming from a Clay County player.....Nick Brumback has played for five years and has never had as much as a technical. He is one of the most humble players and people you'll ever meet... What do you expect the Clay players to say? That they started the whole thing? Or even better that if their coach was doing what he needed to be doing that none of this would have happened?
-
Video evidence? Saw the game and the video of the game and nowhere on the video does it show Brumback touch Spurlock....If Spurlock would have been in line shaking hands after the game instead of trying to celebrate with his fans this would never have happened. He was over in front of Clay/Jackson fans pumping his fist and waving his arms like they had won the region....Pretty sure if Brumback would have forearmed Spurlock then there would have been some evidence of bruising/bleeding or possibly both....It's a shame that a high school coach would tell fans and anyone else that will listen a blatant lie about a player to cover their own actions. I feel that it's a shame that Clay's administration/coaches wouldn't let them shake hands during the district. It sets a bad president for high school sports. Clay county has a great tradition and should be proud of it. Do you think Bobby Keith,Donnie Gray, or Coach Burchell would have been involved in all this mess? I highly doubt it! Seems like things keep happening to Clay County and they are alwasy quick to blame others. Jackson has not had another issue with a player or coach all season. Can Clay County say the same?

Philpot/Wilson/Embree....... One of the best called games I've seen in a long time. Very little complaints from either side concerning the officials. -

Considering what he lost off of last years team he has to be the 14th region coach of the year...... -

How did Jackson county benefit from only having two refs? The refs let them play on both ends.
