  1. Ok, I'll agree but balls and strikes can be debated every game.
  2. If there was a missed third strike in the 7th that hardly makes up for the base umpire(he standing between the mound and 2nd base) not looking at 1st base and then looking confused and start to make a safe call and then signal out. Then the umpire still looking like he did not what to do went to the home plate umpire who was watching the runner on third to bail him out. So I think you are way off base with this comparison. Arguments about changing strike zones can be made in almost every game, that is just part of high school baseball. All I was trying to say in my first post was that a young Bracken pitcher had a good game and that a tough break, that he had no control over, contributed to the outcome. This was a good high school baseball game that could have went either way.
  3. This was a very exciting game as both teams were preparing for district play. Bracken Co. got off to a slow start but kept fighting back and tied the score at nine with 2 out in the bottom of the seventh when Andrew Cummins hit a double off of the right field fence with the bases loaded to score 2 runs. The runner from 1st base was thrown out at home to send the game to extra innings. Cummins also had a 2 run home run in the game. Eli Florer and Zach Williams also hit home runs for Bracken. Sophomore Travis Bishop entered the game in the third in relief and did a good job of keeping the Wildcat hitters off balance until the 8th when fatigue and a missed call at first led to 3 runs. Bracken Co. threaten again in the bottom of the 8th with 2 runners on but could not complete the comeback one more time.
  4. Jake Ollier usually gets the start against the tough teams so I would think he was their ace.
  5. Yes, that was the championship game. Bracken Co. had beaten Nicholas Co. 10-0 in their first game of the day. Josh Cummins pitched the complete game shutout and Andrew Cummins led the offense going 4-5 with 3 doubles. In championship game Andrew Cummins gave Bracken the early lead with a 2 run line drive home run into a stiff wind in the 1st inning. But the next inning Brossart went ahead for good with 4 runs. Cummins again led the offense going 2-3 with a walk. Ryan Wood pitched a solid game for Bracken Co. but the defense made a couple of mistakes and Brossart took advantage. Congrats to the Mustangs and to Bracken Co. for a very good tounament.
  6. Bishop Brossart is the host school but the games tomorrow will be at Pendery Park.
  7. Does anyone have the schedule for tomorrow's games?
  8. You have to be kidding!!! It doesn't get any better than this!!!!!!!!!!!!
  9. Not what I heard. I heard that it was close to a "mugging".
  10. 7-Berea 5-Ludlow 3-Highlands 2-Madison Central 1-Bryan Station TB-Bryan Station
  11. Yes, Josh was in the starting line-up tonight. It was his 2nd game back.
  12. Andrew Cummins also had a double-double (21 pts. 11 boards) for Bracken.
