  1. Everyone may not have been crying but the consensus is that the coach recieved too harsh a penalty. I agree that the coach should defend his team but as I said earlier he was defending himself the catcher made the play and threw the ball down at the ground and no it was not toward the player, he never said anything to the player so where is the taunting that people have mentioned. Also as I said before I was there sitting directly behind home plate two rows from the field and the coach had already started toward the plate before the kid threw the ball down. So what was he defending, himself or his players. The KHSAA had a bad sutuation to take care off, in no circumstance should a coach ever bump an offcial not at any level especially in the KHSAA finals when the fans are tuned in and this a showcase for the kids.
  2. Crying over what the coach got is riducolus he deserves every bit that he got and more he made a move toward an umpire that was completly uncalled for. The opposing player did not make his move or slam the ball to taunt he made a very nice play and was excited. The biggest reason the coach came down and confronted the umpire IMO is he was upset that he had sent the runner and the runner was out by so much, because their was NO reason for him to argue the kid was out at the plate so why was he making the move to talk to the umpire? And yes I was there not as bad as the coach and the fans let on.
  3. Im a fan of the 13th region and Corbin, but you all are smart enough to get on a computer so I take it your are all smart enough to look at all of the options. It has not taken away from the games in other regions and it will not if it is ever done in this region. The bigger floor and atmosohere will be great it will be a better venue for everyone for all of the reasons I listed in my previous post and there is no bad sides to having the 13th region tournement played on a bigger neutrel floor it better prepares the kids and you still DO NOT loose the fans, you just gain a tremondous advantage for eveyone involved.
  4. Why would you think that it would take away from high school basketball to play this on a neutrel floor. Best thing to ever happen in the 15th region and everyone that is involved in the thing, makes money, better for the fans, gets the kids ready that will be going to the state tournement, and the overall basketball experiece. I have heard several of the contending coaches say that this would be a wonderful idea and yes it would be. As far as it being a homecourt for Corbin this is so ludiccruis the civic center will not be Corbin high Schools and as it was stated earlier the floor for basketball will only be down for games. Lets all get on the bandwagon and bring this tournement to the best place for everone involved, they play on neutrel floors in other regions all over the state and why would it have to be at the new center what about Cumberland College.
  5. Corbin and South may play more than four times considering that South is in the CFIT and Corbin is back in the Hooping it Up. Corbin is by far the most tallented team in the region and look for the old Tigers of Clay County to be right on there heels. And never I mean Never count out Mike Jones and the Black Bears. Quote the Raven nevermore
  6. Have to get everything finilized everyone knows hoe the systems work. It is a done deal.
  7. I thought this was about Breathitt Counties coach so here goes rumor over here again is the Roscoe Denny my be back at the helm of the bobcats.
  8. I believe that this is not a nea poistion but a replacement for Mr. Boucher whi is retiring and I have heard will take on some kind of part time roll at the khsaa.
  9. The S/E press just releassed a statement about the canidtates Roscoe Denny and Al Gover are the two names being heard in London and Corbin.
  10. Why is this an issue the offcial in question graduated from high school more than 15 years ago and does not live in the city limits and does not work in the city of Corbin. Williamsburg sure has nothing negative to say when a graduate of that school worked there games and in fact worked there game in the district tourn. Get over what happened and work toward next season Williamsburg has great young tallent and will be fine.
  11. I heard last night that Clay and North Lauerel drew each other in the district is this true/ If so this is a shame.
  12. I beg to differ but Williamsburgs coaches were not ejected just restricted to the dugout as for the reason it was more for the interfernce call at second that the coaches did not understand. A player going into the base must slide directly into the base and not into the path of the defense player therefore resultimg in a runner being called out at first. GREAT CALL.
  13. Maybe he can end up at Corbin he would help the hounds and his dad and his dads family would like that great kid. Barton is From Corbin.
  14. Kevin Hembree is going to the boys from the 13th.
