As I am sitting here reading these post I am amazed at some of the post on here. As for HBO669 we in Harlan County have figured out real quick who he is and who he is related to. His post are commical and are totally false. We in Harlan County are sooooo excited about the possiblity of Larkey possibly taking the job. The other post about Larkey hurrying up and making a decision on the job. It is not him it is us that are making this worse. It was not his fault that the paper in Rockcastle jumped the gun. Larkey can not do anything until Monday if it is true that he is taking the job. Let's cut him some slack.

Youngblood, I don't see you sitting back any. You have been giving your opionion ever since this thread has started. I am not saying nothing is wrong with that but don't act like you are just sitting back watching things unfold because you are definetly not.

AnswertheBell, my mouth is shut until Monday Feb. 4th. I am just sitting here enjoying all the talk about Harlan County. I mean we NEVER get this kind of good attention.

Wideopen, I talked to someone very close to the situation last night and he told me that Harlan County will name their coach Feb. 4th. He said that they had a coach but he would not go into detail as to why they were waiting until Feb. 4th. He just told me that everything is looking great for Harlan County football and the kids and the community will really appreciate and be excited about the hire.

The Blackbears could have a coach named by this week and boy will it be big for Harlan County!!!:dancingpa

Scatbackskin, absolutely Larkey would be a GREAT hire but I don't know if we could be that lucky to have a great coach like that come to Harlan County. Could you imagine what Larkey could do with 125 kids to choose from not counting Freshman. Oh the possiblities.

Harlan County's tentative schedule is as follows: I don't think all contracts are signed just yet. Hazard - Home Lynn Camp- Away Lee Co. VA.- Away Middlesboro- Home Breathitt- Home Powell- Away Fleming- Away Estill- Home Somerset- Away Now, this is not in the right order because I am not sure what order it actually is. They are currently trying to find their 10th game. To answer your question Scatbackskin, no Harlan County and Harlan ind. will not be playing next year. Harlan Ind. chose not to play the Blackbears.

I was told today that Mr. Saylor had all the kids that plan on playing football next year for the Blackbears come to the blackbears fieldhouse to meet each other. The coaches for all three schools were present also. I was told that 118 kids from grades to be 10-12 were present. I was told that it was a great site and great atmosphere. The excitement surrounding this up and coming new program is starting to kick off and I can't wait until next fall to see the Blackbears take the field for the first time against Hazard. I bet you won't be able to find a parking place from hear to Hazard.

ATTENTION: All Harlan Countians, according to AnswertheBell Harlan County High School has no hope in football. We might as well not even attempt to play the games or set goals or anything of that sort.

Legend64 this is not a rumor website and your rumor or whatever it is, is WAY off base. Woolum is not coming and no OC or DC has been hired, heck the head coach has not even been hired. Harlan Countians need to be patient because we might know something soon and it could be BIG!!!!!!

SEinsight, I am kind of confused about your post. How is hiring a new coach creating a new postition? There are 3 current head coaches that will soon be one. It seems to me that that would be saving money to me. Also Mike Jones is already in the system so if he is the coach then how would that be creating or bring in someone? Sounds like to me that you are just not for the consolidation which is fine and your own opionion but the last time I checked they will have to have a someone to coach the basketball team.

My sources tell me that Tim Saylor is very close to hiring a coach. We could know something within the next we or so.
