  1. I heard that Owen was without some key players for this one. Players that would have made an impact in the running game I think is what they said. Any truth to this? I'm not saying it would have made the score any closer but it may have provided some stability in the running game if they really were playing without them.
  2. This one will be a close one. From what I heard Owen was not at full strength against Henry and had a few key players that didn't even play. If those players are back and Owen is healthy I give them the edge. If not Trimble will take this one and spoil Owens home opener.
  3. This one has the potential of being a GREAT and exciting game.
  4. It all depends on which Owen Co team shows up. If it's the same team that played Grant till the last minute then I'm saying Owen. If it's the Owen that played Walton then I'll take Gallatin.
  5. Grant made one more play than Owen did, and that one play put Grant at the 1 yrd line for the go ahead score. GREAT game! An awesome and exciting game to watch to kick off the year.
  6. From what I can see, everyone here mentioned played at least 1 year under the great Ron Finley. Needless to say, I think he has rubbed off and influenced many!:thumb:
  7. From what I was told, Owen held its first spring game in a number of years. Sounds like Coach Fowler and his staff are doing something right.
  8. If Owen's backcourt can take care of the ball and their big men can stay out of foul trouble I would say they are the favorite but they have been very up and down thus far this year. I wouldn't count Henry or Carroll from contending as well. With the type of year that Yager (I hope I spelt that correct) and company are having accompanied with home court advantage, it wouldn't suprise me if Carroll walks away with the title. And Henry Co. has some kids that can play (the lefty especially....I believe he is #23). I would say its these three teams that are the biggest contenders.....especially if the kid from GC doesn't play.
  9. Saw this game first hand, and you have got to give Owen Co. some credit. A team that was suppost to be so bad that NCC's 2nd and 3rd strings could put up something like 70 ( I think the pregame thread read something like that) and that NCC's starters were suppost to be sitting out against in the 2nd half came out and showed they could compete since their defense only gave up 3 points in the first half. Take away one heck of a pick by NCC on a screen and a blocked punt for a TD and this game is only 3-0 at halft time. Congrats to NCC on a great win and best of luck to you as you pursue another state championship, but you have to give some credit where credit is due. The score does not indicate the type of game Owen Co played.
  10. Unless there is a miracle, I can't say that I see Owen winning this game. But hey who knows, the state is in need of a good upset and something to talk about. Not saying this would be the game that it happens but I sure would like for it to.
  11. Ask CAL if Owen was a tough team to beat. From what I can tell and what I saw on friday night CAL had fits with this Owen Co. team unlike last years
