10 Good
  1. thats impressive for both teams. lca for beating tc. and tc for going 10 innings just some 16 hours after beating lex cath in a 15 inning game ending at 1 am
  2. the national polls can be iffy. teams like prp who could possibly be better than a team like st x but have not had national exposure could slide under the national radar. however i will say BaseballAmerica is one of the most reliable national rankings along with USA Today. great to see kentucky teams getting national exposure
  3. ross-lca, maronde-lex cath, webb-heath not necessarily in that order. these 3 are leaps and bounds about all pitchers in the state. all 3 will make great college\pro pitchers. all 3 are projected in the first few rounds of the draft. maronde struck out 17 tates creek batters in 8 innings hitting 93 mph on the radar gun 5 or more times and was consistantly in low 90s. he is the most dominant in my opinion and has the better upside than the others. ross also has a very high upside. havent seen much of webb so i cannot account for him
  4. i agree, however it is never too early to rank but it may be too early to judge teams by the rankings. take powerhouse teams such as dunbar and lex cath. both lost a lot of talent last year and that has shown for both teams but they both also have some big wins. teams like those 2 who have lost talent are still trying to figure out their lineup and come district play many teams like that will be in full stride. also look at schools less known for baseball such as anderson co who i hear scored 58 runs in a game which is impressive no matter who they played. there are also some nky teams such as cov cath who have been pretty impressive early but did not make the top 25.
  5. Yes, the catholic coach started 3 freshmen and benched the majority of his starters.
  6. Beechwood made it to the state championship in 2006. They made a great run with an underrated team.
  7. The 2006 Lexington Catholic team was very talented and won the state championship and was ranked #4 in the nation. The 7 or 8 juniors on that team were even more talented in 2007 but the team definetly under achieved and were possibly one of the most talented teams in Ky history although they underachieved. I also know Harrison Co has had many very talented teams in the last 20 or so years.
  8. Holmes's record being the best in the state just shows they did not play the competition that Lex Cath and Mason County did this year. Catholic and Mason both went to out of state tournaments and lost to good teams. I'm not taking away from Holmes's season but I don't understand how a better record means that much.
  9. I don't think there is one person who is the glue to this team. When they are firing on all cylinders they are pretty hard to stop. Everyone seems to have a role which they have accepted and each person does their job. A team that is fun to watch. Sidenote, Catholic went undefeated in the 11th REGION! Pretty impressive.
  10. Franklin County will be a good team, but i dont think they have a better combo than Botkin and Sanford at Catholic, Phares and Gywun at Scott County, or Johnson and Hudson at Dunbar. I think they will make noise in the 11th, but at places like Catholic and Scott County even when they are rebuilding they are still darn good. 4th best team in the region.
  11. Bell Co is going to be a very solid team this year. They went undefeated in the regular season last year and losing to a very good Lex Cath team in the playoffs. They lose hardly anyone from last years team. They will be the best team in the mountains this year.
