Belfry 03

Varney from Belfry. Runs in the 4.5 range. Despite weighing in at around 160-170 he benches close to 300, squats over 400, and power cleans 235-245. He will be much more explosive this year, compared to last. Might have to carry the load, if not the truck for Belfry next year.

Belfry was ahead 4-2 until Haywood starting substituting, then Hazard made it 4-4, but keeping several of their varsity in. Cisco played and I dont think Blackburn went in. Belfry scored 2 touchdowns on their first series of 10 plays. Thomas Varney looked really good carrying the ball.

# 89 is Corey Charles, a junior I believe.

I thought BC had great fans too, my biggest disappointment was when, the coach himself got the trophy. The Bobcats players should have been allowed to receive their trophy, after all they worked for and deserved recognition. IMO My son once played for a basketball coach who didn't allow them to receive their trophy, I just think this is poor sportsmanship, no matter who the coach may be. I felt the Bobcats never gave up. You all should be proud, because you have a good team.

Belfry was awesome both offensively and defensively, all deserve players of the game!!!!! Congratulations Pirates!!!!! I can't wait until Friday, with hopes of bringing back the trophy to Belfry. The adrenaline was so great from the boys that I could feel it all the way in my seat, and the fans were awesome!!!! I hope the 12th man shows up at Papa John's with as much intensity as they displayed tonight. Good luck Pirates, let's bring back the trophy to the Pond Creek Nation!!!

I think this will be a very good game. Breathitt played Shelby Valley and beat them as bad as we did, so I think this good be Belfry's toughest game yet. If Belfry's is mentally focused, I see the Pond Creek Nation advancing to Louisville.

Congratulations Belfry!!!!! Just one more win away from a trip to Papa John's. I thought the defense did a great job tonight and Congratulations to Hickman and Coleman for co-players of the game. Let me restate that, great game for Belfry offensively and defensively.

Just talked to Drew, they are on their way back from Huntington. He has a sprained MCL and the doctor told him to ice it and stay off of it this week, and he should be ready to go back to playing in the second round of playoffs.

Great job Belfry, both offensively and defensively. Congratulations on a perfect regular season. Andrew's mom is suppose to be taking him to Huntington this morning to get checked out, if I find out anything I will post my results as soon as I get to talk to her. I agree JC did not give up, the Pirates had me worried in the 4th quarter though, but I'm glad we came out with the win.

Supposedly Dustin May and one of the Honaker twins is being recruited by UK, but due to the delay of the Shelby Valley/Belfry game, Dustin was unable to attend the UK/UL game.

I think this will be a very good game. If the Pirates play like I know they can, it should be a win. If they come in off on the first series of plays or with big heads, this could be a very close game. Pikeville is good, but I see Belfry's front seven taking care of business. Good luck to both teams and I hope for an injury free game.

The Shelby Valley players and families are in my prayers. This just totally shocked me, both as a mother and an avid sport fan. I feel the whole Shelby Valley community needs to be remembered also, because if they are like Belfry people and I know they are, the majority of the community is affected.
