  1. Yes Amber played first base and continued her great hitting. She can knock the cover off the ball. She hits the ball with such power and has a beautiful swing. I hope she continues her home run chase for the national record.
  2. Montgomery County will have some strong pitching this year. Paige Compton a junior has worked very hard in the off season. Last summer she played with the W VA Dusters 18u out of Huntington and traveled out west to CO to face some of the best 18u teams in the country. She also played in NC,SC at all college exposure tournaments. They played some teams that were all college students and won. They played teams that had several Div 1 players on their teams. This has helped her to grow up so to speak and realize where not to throw the ball. Also Montgomery will have sophomore Erin Charles who played with a Central Ky team and help take them to a world series championship in ISA sosftball in Ga. She as well learned alot from the great competition that she faced last summer. These two girls will be a geat duo for Montgomery County. Their hitting will not be as strong as far as home runs but they will still have a solid hitting team that can put the ball in play. It should be a fun season. IMO it will come down to Montgomery and Clark again.
  3. Montgomery has played a very tough schedule this year. Usually if they get beat the officials are calling it close. Montgomery is a hard nose team and play very good defense. If the officials try hard enough they can take them out of a game,:taz: Like tonight. I am not taking anything away from LCA they are a very good team. Montgomery plays Rowan Co Friday and Lex Catholic Sunday. So coach Robinson has prepared them for the State tournament. If they make it!
  4. I agree I did not know of any clear cut favoites this year. I think next year there will be several girls that will be in the running.
  5. Who do you think will be the Miss softball in KY this year?
  6. I don't have a dog in this fight either but if a team plays it's best picking up full court , then they should play that way. I would not throw in the towel until the other team admits defeat and starts subsituting it 's players. Then I would put in my underclassmen and have them to play full court also. You have to teach them what to do even if you have a 32 point lead. If the opposing team can't handle it then that is their problem . But I would teach the younger players to play the same way my starters do. I would not like to run the score up on anyone because I have been there it's no fun. But you still have to coach to win the state and pulling back and playing into someone elses game is not the way to teach young players. I was not there so I don't know who subbed and who didn't in this game. Rowan does have a very good team I hope they win state but it is a big challenge. GOOD LUCK!
  7. Mary is a true athlete. She not only was a terrific softball player but also a terrific soccer and basketball as well. But more than that she is a well mannered young lady who will do great at whatever she does. Congrats Mary and good luck in Med school.
  8. Wonder if she is playing Basketball? At over 6 ft she should play it too. What is her name? Where did she transfer from?
  9. Montgomery will have the pitching with Paige Compton and Erin Charles and I think the bats are going to be OK. The girls had a Great summer and alot of the girls worked very hard. Harley Catron should be a big hitter for them this year. They lost alot of Power hitters but I think you will see alot of RBI'S this year from solid base hitting.
  10. Who is the pitcher for Conner? I remember a tall blond girl from last year. Did she gradruate and what grade is she in?
  11. I know it is early in the year but I am having softball withdraws. Does anyone have any ideas on their own regionals this year. In the 10th and it will probably come down to Clark County and Montgomery County again in my opinoin.
