  1. Oh where to start on this game? First off, the coach has no business coaching at a high school level, he should be in middle school or not coaching at all. He absolutely butchered the game. The refs made a few questionable calls but that is not why boone lost, they had several turn overs and bray (their top scorer) spent most of his time dribbling the ball because there was no point guard in. The point guard (num 10) came out hit his first 3 of the game and then gets yelled at for taking shots. Boones coach is by far the worst coach i have ever seen at a high school level. At the end of the game the play was set up to go to bray, well mcfarland once again decides to be the hero and takes the ball and keeps the ball and forces a shot with 5 sec left on the clock and bricks it. Now here is the question i need answered, Andy and boyce and a few others played awesome but for some reason sat the bench while others ball hogged and threw up brick after brick and turn over after turn over and ppl wonder why boone lost. I'd venture to say that if boone played a group of 7 yr olds some how the coach would have it a 2 pt game at the minute mark in the 4th and would some how blow the game. It absolutely makes me sick to see kids play their hearts out and not go anywhere because of such a horrible coach. Good luck St Henry you all played an awesome game and should win easy next game.
  2. Mcfarland is good, and one of the best at getting to the line, however in order to be one of the best he really needs to learn when to give the ball up, i've watched him play several times and he is really good don't get me wrong but he is a little selfish with the ball sometimes. Earls is going to be really good but he really needs to get stronger. I haven't really seen popp play but i've seen Mike play and he is pretty tough but kinda buckles under a press, If he can get that straightened out he will be a major asset to the team in the years to come.
  3. Bray was wide open, no hands in his face and no one near him. You made good points about the point guard situation, I have watched several of the teams you mentioned play and their guards are a big part of the point game. I do not think it is the choice of boone's guards to play the assist role. If you watch their games you will see the guards drive and heaven for bid it doesn't go in and they get yanked. When i played for Ryle the coach was on the same kick and yanked you every time you took a chance and missed a shot, it caused us to play a little conservative too. Boone has several good guards, one of which sticks with hester and duran and the rest of the top name guards pretty well. If the game is put in the kid's hands they will go far, if it is left up to the coach it will be close to the end of the game and they will blow it in the 4th qtr. Boone needs to lay off the full ct press, try it a few times and if it works roll with it, if not call it off.
  4. That was very well said. boone had every chance in the world to win against HC. Your very right, at the critical points of the game Boone's coach had several key players out of the game, and at the end of the game I'm not really sure what the plan was but you gotta get you main 3pt shooter the ball, he was wide open at the end when they were down 3 and the forward forced a shot with 2 defenders on him and missed. Coaching is def a problem at boone, Some kids make mistakes and get taken out asap and then when put back in they are so scared to take a chance, because they don't want to get yanked that they play scared. This could've and might be boone's big year, they have lost several key games because of simply being out coached. It seems like when the coach lets them play and doesn't start that substituion thing they play awesome. They could easily win the 9th region with some adjustments to the play calling. I'm a firm believer that a good point guard can run an offense 100 times better and smoother by calling his own plays. I hope the best for boone
  5. i do believe ryle has gotten better, not sure exactly what the score was of the 1st meeting but it wasn't close, Boone had troubles the other night, earls is out (not sure why) but i'm not to sure it would've made a difference. Ryle got allot of rebounds and got allot of points from the line. Boone made a run but for some reason when the press stopped working they stayed in it and got beat down low everytime. I've said it 100 times that Boone's biggest downfall is their coach. Ryle will go far this season, they will probably draw conner which will be an easy game for them.
  6. i'm not so sure about that. boone got them good the first time. i believe it was the beginning of the season, however i think ryle may pull this one out. It will all be up to the coaches. It all depends on what boone team comes to play.
  7. well boone pulled it out pretty easily. Mcfarland had a big game with 23 i think, bray had 20, Boyce had several boards with a few swats and b. ryan had a bunch of assists and several rebounds. Overall boone looked really good they def are on their way up.
  8. What does everyone think? I'm predicting that if bray is hot and Boone learns to play as a team that they blow conner away. Conner is tough though but i don't think they can stay with boone, but boone's coach may start that substitution thing every 30 sec and give the game away. Boone has a very talented team however when that talent is on the bench for whatever unknown reason the game slips away. Now if conner wins this game it will be huge for them. My prediction is boone by 15
  9. scott will win with ease. simpson is all highlands has and if shut down the team shuts down
  10. scott is a pretty good team but i think it's alittle far fetched to say they could've won with the suspended players actually playing.
  11. Boone's coach makes way too many adjustments and allot of them are for no reason. I agree that if kids aren't hustling then pull them, but when kids are out there playing hard and they get pulled and they're showing no signs of fatigue then all you have done is taken their mind out of the game. Coaching is the reason several of his games were lost. There have been recent games when Boone's coach has several key players on the bench toward the end of the game and Boone gave the game away. Boone has allot of talent that will take them very far this season but someone needs to wake up and start coaching
  12. It was a pretty good game for the most part. The camels made a run at one point and got within 3. One of the guards for the camels shot several nba range 3's. Boone's coach woke up and made some changes in the lineup and all the sudden boone pulled away. This was a much needed win for this team
