  1. There are also three other players from Silver Grove that people are looking right over the top of. It is the McCarter family. Scott McCarter played in the late 70's and early 80's. I'm not sure of all his career totals but I do know that he ended up with over 1,000 career points. Son Chad McCarter played at the end of the 90's and the beginning of the 2000's. He had over 2,000 career points and was the all-time leading at Silver Grove until his brother passed him. He was one that was extremely hard to guard. If you over played him he would just go right by you. If you backed off of him he would just pull and hit a jumper with no problem. Brother Bryant McCarter played from 2000-2005. He came out as the schools all-time leading passing his brother during the 2005 season. He also had over 1,000 career rebounds and maybe closer to over 1,500 career rebounds. He was only 6'1'' and was one the most dominant post players in Northern Kentucky while he played. This trio of family members will go down as maybe the best family to ever play at the school of Silver Grove. This family will always be remembered for all of their accomplishments that they achieved.:thumb:
  2. Hazard also has a very nice baseball field. It is a very impressive ball field with a beautiful back drop
  3. Corbin has a great field. Here is the website to see a picture http://www.corbinhighschool.org/baseball.html
  4. Yes, CC had just beat them a couple weeks earlier by that score. The pitcher they threw wasn't a JV pitcher, I believe it was their #4 starter. They threw him again in the district tournament and removed him in the second or third inning. CC also had to bring in their #1 in that game to keep the Grove from scoring anymore runs. If it was for a grand slam hit in late in the game by CC then Silver Grove would've been playing in the district finals instead of CC. If you have seen him coach then you would understand why he was giving this job. As I have already said, he gives 110% every season. Do not be surprised to Boone competing this year with some of the better teams. Go watch a game or two this season and you'll see why he got this job and the opportunity.

  6. He will do a great job @ Boone Co. He did a very good job @ Silver Grove the past couple of seasons where he hasn't had that great of talent. Last year he had two really good ball players on the squad and finished one game under .500. His team lost to Campbell County in the district tournament by 2 runs in a game that Silver Grove actually outplayed Campbell. He knows how to get the best out of squads that aren't that good so he can do great things with squads that have 10-12 good ball players on it. He will be able to decide what players will be playing varsity baseball this year instead of having to take what he was givin' @ Silver Grove. I know he is very excited about this job and he can't wait to get things rolling. I also know that Silver Grove would like to thank Wayne for all the things he did at the school. While he was there his whole heart was there and he always gave 110%. I think you could ask any coach that Silver Grove has played against and they would tell you that he did a great job with such a small school and he deserves an opportunity like the one that he has recieved at Boone Co.
  7. I know what's going on with the whole Steve situation, believe me, I do and i'm not real happy about it. But i also talked to the AD at the school yesterday and i was informed that Ray had not resigned. I also talked to one of his assistants and they also told me that he had not resigned and he had not said anything to them. I'm not trying to call you out at all, i'm just telling you what i hear from the people incharge.
  8. That is false information. Ray has not resigned as the girls coach at Silver Grove.
  9. No he wont. I talk to him almost everyday and he will not be going to Ohio.
  10. I also want to say that Tony did an amazing job down here @ Silver Grove. He knew what he was doing from day one and he did a great job at it. Coach Hart couldn't have picked a better person to replace him when he stopped coaching a few years back. I know everyone down here would like to thank Tony for everything that he has down at this school and with the team the past two seasons. He and his coaching staff did a tremendous job and they and we all are proud of what they have done to keep Silver Grove's basketball team rolling. Thank you to Matt Sharp And Mike Fennell for all that you two have done also. Tony couldn't have had two better assistants sitting beside him during every game. Tony, thanks for all that you have done. You helped the tradition roll on in Silver Grove. Good luck in everything that you guys have ahead of you and I hope all goes well. Thanks for everything. PS. Don't forget that all three of you will be known as Grovers from now on too. Enjoy it!! :thumb:
  11. Nobody should get too excited about Coach Hart returning to the sidelines for Silver Grove b/c that is not going to happen. As I am someone who played for coach hart for 5 seasons, I know he will not return to coaching at Silver Grove.
  12. It's official. Corey signed his letter of intent @ 6:15. Congrats to Corey and too his entire family. Also the coaching staff and the players that played with him.
  13. That would be a good idea, but no, it will be taking place in the library at the school.
  14. Corey Pelle will being on to play with West Liberty State today. I believe the signing time is @ 6 this evening. Again, as I said when it was first announced that Pelle would go to college there to play basketball, this is a big day in the Grove City. Everyone is excited about will occur tonight. This is big for the tiny school of Silver Grove. It proves that there are great players that come thru the system down here. Year in and year out there are always great basketball teams from Silver Grove that step on to the hard wood. This is one of the greatest players to step on to the hard wood out of Silver Grove. Congrats to the coaching staff for the job that you did with this young man. Congrats Corey!!! Keep it going thru college!! :thumb:
  15. I've got one major thing to say here, YOU MUST NOT HAVE SEEN PELLE PLAY THIS YEAR!! And if you did, then you must not know talent when you see it. Don't forhet that Pelle put up 35 against Brossart @ Brossart, and put up over 20 the other two times they played them this year. Keep in mind that Brossart is one of the toughest defensive teams in the state. I would also like to know how you could sit here and bad mouth a high school basketball player. He's a young man don't forget. He's a great kid on and off the floor. He gets along with anybody. He is also a great basketball player, you can ask anyone around the northern kentucky area and i bet you that almost everyone one of them will agree that he is a great player and extremely fun to watch play. A school like West Liberty State offered him this scholarship because he went on a college visit there a couple weeks ago, practiced with them, and scored 28 points in the game. Yes, that's right, I said 28 points. I can't wait for the next 4 years when he is showing you that he did deserve this scholarship and he doesn't need your congratulations because he will recieve from everyone that he talks to.
