Hope an Pray'in thats he's allright. I would hate to see a talent like that  go down. In Bluebird land we wish him a speedy recovery. Here's why we want Holmes to be at their best. Think about competition - Competitors should want their opponents to be at their peak so they can present the best possible challenges. To illustrate this point 2001 British Open Champion David Duval expresses how a good competitor should view opponents when he discussess the possibility of contending against Tiger Woods: "One of the great things about golf is that you don't have to have any ill-will in this game. If I come head-to-head against him at say, the U.S. Open, I want him to be playing as good as he can play because I want to beat him when he's playing his best... It would be a heck of a lot better, if you know he have you all he's got, and you beat him." They're alot of people not showing much RESPECT to the Dogs. But they are for real just look at their body of work this year. Every team has their weaknesses as well as their strengths and when they're hitting on all 8 cylinders they're hard to beat. Congratulations to BOTH teams for creating a lot of EXCITEMENT!!!

Who has a strong region besides the 7th and 11th? I wouldn't say the ninth is weak "balanced" might be a better word. Make your argument and match them up against the other 15 regions... Why not Highlands??? They beat Boone head to head. :taz: Like it or not they'll be better than Boone next year. You'll replace McFarland and Brown??? Highlands certainly won't be rebuilding they'll be re-loading returning their top 8. No disrespect to Boone they have a nice team. Just wondering about your comment about: "An argument can be made for Boone, but not Highlands." :idunno: Rankings = :puke: Don't mean jack!!! just good for chatter... Thats the beauty of competition you'd better Bring It everytime you take the court. :ylsuper:

A very competitive game. HC played very well they had as much as a 5 point lead late in the 3rd. They were killing Highlands with the Princeton offense. George Grote probably led a balanced scoring attack. Hats off to HC :ylsuper: they gave the Birds all they wanted. Highlands record is now 17-6 Highlands remaining games: 2/13 @ Lloyd 2/17 Home vs Scott 2/19 @ Bullitt East -
Does anyone which districts will be matched up in the Ninth Region Tournament? :idunno: I know that a winner from a district plays a runner-up from another district...

There is no advantage to either team that is playing in the tournamnet because the game is played at a neutral site and both teams must adjust to the elements i.e., 94 ft., 3 point line markings etc.. In the past when the regional tournamnets have been played on a team's home court such as Conner, Holmes, or Mason Co. ADVANTAGE to the host (home) team...

Good point there's not much complaining about the officials in Bluebird land. So what at least 5 walks weren't called against Holmes in the 1st half and Holmes shot 33 free throws. Highlands showed why they're a contender. When they went down by 19 they could have easily broke out the white flagged an surrendered. :isurrender: But this team had alot of CHARACTER. I'm sorry to say it but even though they lost it was a confidence booster for them. I WOULD NOT WANT TO PLAY THEM IN A ONE GAME SERIES! Refing did not have anything to do with the comeback it was ALL GUTS.:taz: Once they got ahold of the Dog's leg they refused to let it go. Maybe the next time they'll will tear it off. I saw a team that grew up a little last night, these kids are all Juniors. They don't have a McGraw or Simpson and they refuse to use that as an excuse. The margin of victory was established in the 1st half. Hats off to Mr. Arnold for shooting the lights out in the first half HE WAS DIFFERENCE in the game. The second half was even steven  KUDOs to both teams for a very entertaining game. Contrary to what some people are suggesting there wasn't alot of jawing going back and forth between the two teams and there was couple of times when a few kids got tangled up but they're wasn't anything unsportsmanlike about it, just good hard competition. Good Luck Bulldogs and Good Luck Bluebirds the rest of the season!!! Both are quality teams and would represent the 9th region well at the Sweet Sixteen. -

Sounds like a character flaw to me... Sportsmanship is a matter of being good (character) and doing right (action) in sports. The majority of acts that we consider bad in sports and call 'unsportsmanlike' are bad precisely because they are unfair, dishonest, disrespectful, or against the rules. -
Any thoughts on this one? KHSAA has the game time listed at 7:30  The actual game time is 3:30 at Highlands Sat. Jan. 31

Keep in mind that Dixie was coming off two big wins playing in a championship game on their homecourt. The main reason the game was so close is because of the style that Highlands plays. I believe they call it "Willie-ball". They choose to walk the ball up the floor and hammer it out each possession. This allows teams to hang around and leaves very little room for error. :idunno: Once the point guard makes the first pass its like the defense is playing 5 against 4. I have been to several of Highlands game and I could of fell asleep watching this boring brand of basketball. They are MUCH better when they play an uptempo stlye. They have some good ballhandlers, great team chemistry, and some kids that can finish example: Kowolonek -
