  1. 2003 basketball IQ much better than 2008 crop and also had a much better coach. Kelly Wells would have eate O'Hearn alive.
  2. The player that tackled the other one in the semi-final should have been ejected.....not just an intentional file. What a cheap shot!! The MC player was reacting as any other player would have done.
  3. Hicks deserves the boo's he receives. He's earned it!
  4. Absolutely!! Mason has a boatload of talent that is underutilized. They have no half court offense and are a total transition team. Superintendent Tim Moore needs to take control of this team as their coach before it's too late!!!
  5. Disagree. MC & BS could meet in the state tournament. There's nothing wrong with setting the tone and getting in the other team's head.
  6. Mason is a transition type team and depends heavily on 3 pointers. If their forced into a halfcourt game and the 3's aren't falling they're dead. Unfortunately, they don't appear to know how to run an offense and never have under O'hearn.
  7. Hot off the press on kentucky.com http://www.kentucky.com/232/story/322116.html KHSAA board blasts LCA for improper aid to athletes By Mike Fields MFIELDS@HERALD-LEADER.COM Lexington Christian Academy representatives got an earful of criticism from some Kentucky High School Athletic Association Board of Control members on Monday. It was the first time LCA appeared before the board since the school was fined and put on probation for giving improper financial assistance to student-athletes. 8. In another post, someone appeared to have a question about how old a player is allowed to be and still participate in sports. Attached is the rule: Bylaw 3. Age Pursuant to KRS 156.070 (2) (e), a student who becomes nineteen (19) years old before August 1 shall be ineligible for interscholastic athletic competition. A student who becomes nineteen (19) on or after August 1 shall remain eligible for the entire school year. The Board of Control and the Commissioner may waive the provisions of this regulation and the student shall be eligible for high school athletics in Kentucky if the written documentation is provided to clearly demonstrate that the student: 1. Qualifi ed for exceptional children services and had an individual education program developed by an admissions and release committee (ARC) while the student was enrolled in the primary school program; 2. Was retained in the primary school program because of an ARC committee recommendation; and 3. Has not completed four (4) consecutive years or eight (8) consecutive semesters of eligibility following initial promotion from grade eight (8) to grade nine (9). The Board of Control and the Commissioner may not adopt administrative procedures that allow for waiver of this rule under any other condition. (Case situations related to this bylaw appear on pages 19 through
  9. Pawsat is going to be a super player for the Royals. He's intense and all business when on the floor. He shows a great deal of maturity for a freshman. How many rebounds did he have?
  10. Sorry, not a disgruntled parent of any child at LCA but a parent nevertheless that has watched this kind of crap go on for way too long. Nothing personally invested, just sick of the cheating to win at any cost. LCA, Lex Cath and others should be so very proud!!! Parents at these schools that object should stand up and be heard or you're no better than the the cheaters.
  11. You really think that is going to happen??? There are just so many good people out there, trying to make a difference in the lives of LCA students.......if they were athletes!!!!
  12. Once again someone wants you to believe that the "charitable acts" of others led to this outcome. Why is it that this so -called "charity" is almost entirely for athletes???? This "charity" is at the expense of other kids whose parents paid their full tuition and is all in the name of winning at any cost. Interesting also that all references to this scandal have now been deleted from the Kentucky.com website. They had a comments page that absolutely blistered LCA and Lexington Catholic. I'm certain that most of the folks at LCA want what is best for their children and want to play by the rules. They work hard to send their children to a private school and are paying their 100% of their children's tuition. I'm certain that many of them are very angry about this situation and will hopefully make their voices heard.
