I would hope that the players would get some of the coaches personality. But to say that he overreacts or the players overreact is idiotic. You receive bad call after bad call and it affects how you play. You have to stick up for your players when your a coach and that is what Hicks does.

I'd rather have a coach who cares than one that is silent the entire game. Conner had the game won, and SHs #12 held Crews so Conner couldn't get the inbounds. Missed call after missed call. Look at the free throw discrepency SH shot 3x as many FTs. That says it all.

The first Technical foul was a crap call. The refs were the worst I've seen in a 33rd final. I can't believe how much SH got away with on the inside and also covering Crews. They hand checked and grabbed him the entire game. Officiating helped decide this one.

Here's what I know, Conner has no doubt scouted Scott and has prepared for them. The Coaching staff at Conner is A+ at getting their team ready for competition and Conner will win this one by 5. My question for the Scott faithful is who is going to stop Adam Crews or Jace Jordan or Courtney Anderson? They have some athletes and will get back on defense. Just ask Cov Cath. who Conner always gives a game.

This is why I'm totally for CLOSED practices. I think parents have no place in practice. Also, during my tryouts the kids know what it is going to be like during the season because half the tryout is conditioning. And no I don't have them dribble a basketball with the conditioning. They do that in the other half of practice. Running builds stamina and mental toughness. Practices should always be harder than games.

Why would he want to leave St. Henry? It seems like they have a good thing going there.

Who are the other coaches there? I was at the Simon Kenton game and noticed that the Assistant from Conner is not the same one that was there in 2004, or he doesn't look the same.

I know Jim Hicks was the coach three years ago when they were in the Regional Final v. Holmes but is the rest of the coaching staff the same? They seem to work hard and have done this consistently now. Why are none of their names mentioned for possible head coaching jobs when Listerman left Boone and Niemie left Ryle?
