  1. Very simple. Hire Trevor Rhye. He has been in the program as a player and asst. coach. Played college ball, bleeds Maroon. Great teacher, great person. He will get Mad-ville back to Rupp.
  2. Congrats to both! Corey is a flat out winner and has been extremely successful at every level he has played. He will be a great example to the kids of Silver Grove how hard work and dedication truly pays off. Best of luck to him in his coaching career!
  3. I like Alpha. Had an absolutely awful trip in the Wood and still nearly beat Gemologist. Second race off a long layoff and bred to love the distance. Waiting to see the draw on Wednesday, but thinking he will be anywhere from 12-1 to 15-1.

  5. Interesting. Wilmington was 5-16 last year. And that was with one of the most talented freshman in Ohio and KY.
  6. Money is always going to be an issue at a Catholic school and that will limit the pool of candidates. That is a big reason why many of them promote from within. Most public school teacher/coach would take a 15 to 20 K salary cut. So that pretty much limits the pool to other NKY parochials and GCL guys. And for many of them, they have been at their respective schools long enough where they have a few other jobs/titles to make a few extra bucks, which if they make a move those extras may not be available.
  7. Who was the realistic one? Just as I stated a few weeks back, a small NAIA would be the ideal fit. This is the best level for him and I wish him well.

  9. Who does everyone like? If it comes up muddy, and it appears that way, I am all over Soldat. Throw out his last race and he has always been in the top 2.
  10. When you only play 68 minutes the whole season, there is not much to watch. I am basing my opinion off everything I saw in high school and I saw him plenty. His feet are glued to the floor. I am sure there are systems that slow it down and are very patient that he could have success in. Other than being a good set shooter, what can he do that makes him a big time college player? He can't put it on the floor, he struggles finishing inside against guys of the same size inside, he's not a shot blocker and can't guard anyone on the wing.
  11. He would have been the 9th or 10th guy on their roster, maybe. I saw about 50 D 2 games last year, and he can't contribute much at that level. Just too slow, doesn't get off the floor quick enough and really doesn't bang much down low. Just a case of the kid didn't get much better since his freshman year of high school. A small NAIA or D 3 school would be the ideal fit. Someplace like Union or Alice Lloyd and he could have a nice career.
  12. He would not have seen a minute on Bellarmine's team this year. I agree with kybred. Definitely not D 1.
  13. Kent does a very good job imo. Would be a good hire.
