  1. Perhaps everyone should look at the record of summer basketball. I heard that the team did very well in both the Georgetown camp and the Belfry camp.
  2. I believe that Jerry Combs would be an excellent candidant for this position. As interim coach, he has the boys working hard and playing well. Coach Combs has the drive and stamina to develop a program that would rebuild the program to the days of GLORY!
  3. That "transfer" played for Cordia on Saturday.
  4. Apparently you aren't aware of the the productivity at Knott Central both in academics (which is more important) and athletics. Read the quotes - the position must first be advertised within the system for 10 days. I would advise you to take heed to Pat Man's logic. I believe he attends most athletic events - even as many basketball, football and BASEBALL than most fans and even parents. This will be a rebuilding year for the basketball team just as it was for the football team last year. Guess what? Beder will the the Patriots to the PLAYOFFS and he is here to stay. Yes, I remember the post where you said that Feltner would be gone. Two losses in the first round of the district tourney. Need I say more??? I won't lose this post. Again take Pat Man's advice. He won't be wrong...............
  5. Appparently you are unaware of the fact that the position is advertised for 10 days within the system. Then KCC can go outside the system. There are some excellent head coaches who have left their previous positions that would send KCC in the right direction. By the way, from what I am hearing from parents and players they are impressed with Amburgey.
  6. I am surprised that you would say that. The AD DOES NOT want the job. Also, Beder as everyone on here says is an asset to Knott Central. He will take the program in the right direction. I wouldn't be surprised if the Pigskin Patriots go to the play-offs. Both the principal and assistant principal appear to wholeheartedly support Beder. I would imagine that the principal, assistant principal and football coach would not want the position. We need someone who will LEAD the Patiots back to the Regional Tournament and be dominant in the region. I would hope that you would agree especially since the title of the thread is "Knott County Coach STEPS DOWN!"
  7. Coaches Spurlock, Lively and Hall must be in contention!
  8. Is this the Steve Banks from Letcher Co?? Where wil Hall go now if the rumor is true? Thereare several schools in the 14th Region that would be lucky to obtan his services.l
  9. 53rd JBS, CORDIA, LCC, JENKINS, KCC June Buchanan, Cordia and Knott Central have the talent pool to win the district. Jim Stepp and Jeff Honeycutt will make sure that their boys are ready to compete by the tournaments. Knott Central has the talent to win , but is weak in another area...
  10. What are your thoughts on the 53rd district in this 06 -07? Do you foresee any coaching changes? How tough will the talent level of each team be? Can the coaches positively lead their teams into competitive action?????
  11. I have heard many rumors, but I don't have enough info to verify anything yet. Unfortunately, I believe that a couple of programs would prosper with more positive coaching philosophies.
  12. Go Hazard! I must say that Hazard will dominate by double digits!:dancingpa :dancingpa :dancingpa
  13. As the tournaments are drawing to a close, I have heard many rumors about coaching changes in the 14th region. What rumors have you heard and which are legitimate??? It appears that several schools have coaches that do not have the philosophy to win the the talent of their teams. What are your opinions?????????????????????????
  14. I completely agree with you L C Bobcat. The Patriots have what it takes to win. They all get along and have started playing TEAM BALL. It is pretty hard to beat this calibre of team on the home floor. GO PATS! :dancingpa :dancingpa
  15. KNott Central is playing awesome right now. The wins reflect the team atmosphere that the boys have right now. Josh Huff and Jarrod Amburgey entered the game at Owsley and played some huge minutes. Look for KCC to surprise a few people come tourney time. And the first victim will be the team to give anything to win!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
