The award goes to Ashley Jade Howard of Magoffin County. The Senior Lady Hornet continues to have a dominate season. Last week she had 36 points, 6 assists, and 7 boards in a win over Lawrence County...31 points against Fleming County and 23 against Russell ...including her 2000th career point. Congratulations Ashley Jade Howard of Magoffin County....she is the WYMT Marymount Medical Center Player of the Week.

Magoffin county won the Championship Game of the Daytona Beach Sunshine Classic by defeating the #4 ranked team in Florida's Class 6A girls basketball, Daytona Spruce Creek 62 to 56. The Lady Hornets start the season at the Eastern Extravaganza in Louisville against Louisville Ballard and came out with a win in overtime. Senior, Ashley Jade Howard lead all scores with 37. Nice way to start the season Lady Hornets. Good Luck

Why dosen't anyone want this job? Lets see a chance to build a program, a chance at a head coaching job, a chance to add something positive to your resume, more money if your an assistant in another program.

We'll have to wait and see if they will address the situation, correct it and put the program back on the right track. The solution however is not to say "if it fails we'll just turn the Football Field into a Soccer field".

Win or Lose you can count on one thing; the Lady Hornets will leave it all on the floor. These girls play the hardest of any team I've watched this year boys or girls. I think I've watched around 70 games or more this year. Go Lady Hornets

With the after effects of the decision by the High School Principal last year to hire a Head Coach with ZERO (0) FOOTBALL EXPERIENCE end Magoffin County Football or will the new Principal step up and do the right thing and hire someone who knows football. If not this may finally put an end to the Magoffin County Football Program. It just dosen't seem right that the school system would let this go on. But they do and it's a shame because all of the students can't be basketball players.
