    Agreed on all statements.

Good article and I thank you for posting. I had a discussion yesterday at the ballpark about this topic and we both considered the Cubs more of a rivalry, specifically because there are a lot more annoying Cub fans in the area. But the Cardinals vs. Reds do seem to be taking off especially after the brawl.

I beleive that Reds fans dislike the Cubs more than they do the Cardinals...just an opinion and at least from the fan perspective.

Scott Rolen is dealing with a sore left shoulder. That’s led to back and neck pain as well.
He saw Dr. Tim Kremchek after the game yesterday and again this morning. He was given two cortisone injections. An MRI of his neck checked out OK.
“I kind of tracked it back to San Diego,” he said. “I don’t know if you guys have noticed, but I haven’t been excelling. I’m not pointing fingers but I’ve been struggling a bit with my shoulder seven to 10 days.
“I got to be neck and back thing. The same thing as last year. The shoulder started bothering a little bit. I didn’t pay much attention to it as first. When that happens to me, I normally go to mirror and video in the batting cage. I was trying to get over the hump. It gets to a certain point where you start going in the wrong direction.
“I’m trying to figure out how to catch up to 87, 88. Wait a minute. I’m trying to figure out how to finish the game. These are the thoughts in my mind. It was going to wrong way.”
Rolen doesn’t know when he’ll return. Could he play this weekend?
    “Anything’s feasible,” he said.

Right-hander Jared Burton was scheduled to have arthroscopic surgery today in Cincinnati. The procedure was to debride the shoulder.
Burton has been on the disabled list since the season began. He had tightness in the shoulder in his last outing of the spring. He was throwing very well before the injury.
Burton went 4-2 with a 2.51 ERA in the 2007 after the Reds selected him in the Rule 5 draft from Oakland. He followed it by going 5-1 with a 3.22 ERA in the 2008.

Personally I dislike the Cardinals more but I cannot stand the Cub fans. I admire the way they continue to support and fill Wrigley every game/every year to back their losers but they seem to me like the largest collection of drunken idiots anywhere.

Rain Delay....really no reason for that game to have ever been started by looking at the weather.

What on earth were they thinking? They have a tornado watch in St Louis until 10:00cst. Who makes the decision on starting a game, the umpires or the home team?

The home team. After the 1st pitch it's in the hands of the crew chief.
