Pujols: I Should Dislike Him Because....

I've always been a fan of Pujols on and off the field. 60 Minutes had a report on him that simply reinforced my belief.

So, finish this sentence without saying "because he's a Cardinal."

    I should dislike Pujols because......

That is well worth watching! Thank you for sharing! I was a fan before but now look at him as an even bigger person. I am skeptical of all baseball players with performance enhancing drugs. He got big fast but says he'll take a test everyday. All in all he is great for baseball on and off the field. Makes me like him even more seeing what he does away from the game. Also makes me mad at our media in this world for promoting all the garbage they promote yet let things like this fly under the radar. Need more stories like his shown.

What's not to like? I think you only dislike this guy if he doesn't play for your team. Great piece on the 60.

He certainly gives back to the community. In a sports world filled with egos, he is certainly refreshing.

Still hard to believe that 400 players were picked ahead of him in the draft. 13th round?? Are you kidding me? Just goes to show that the so called "experts" can be very, very wrong. Can't really blame him for having a chip on his shoulder.

Great post sticrk, I agree with everything you said so instead of posting basically the same thing I'll just give you a . BTW, the bolded part couldn't had been said any better.

Now, since no one is perfect I will hold him being a Cardinal/playing for Larussa against him. Pujos lowers his image with this, lol.

I also couldn't help but think what the heck is St Louis thinking not paying him? 20 guys in the league making more? I don't blame him for looking elsewhere. I 1st thought he should owe them some loyalty for giving him a shot until I heard that. Over 300 every year, over 30HR's every year and over 100 RBI's every year! Oh yeh he's never had a drink etc plus is a big asset in the community not to mention the money his jersey's, tickets etc make them.

Good, bad or indifferent, the American public loves the trashy stuff and is wholly disinterested in feel-good stories. It is what it is.

I think everyone is skeptical today. That is why I have always thought current players should be ticked off any time someone gets caught. That just makes the fans, media and everyone else doubt all players. Any player with great numbers in this era of baseball is under suspicion. If I was in the majors and knew a player was using PED's, I would tell him to stop or look out because he is going under the bus if I think he is using. I don't believe Pujols used PED's but I honestly would not be shocked if it came out that he did, just because that is baseball over the past 20 years. Unfortunate for the true greats of this era.

I've always respected Pujols and his game on the field. He is an absolute beast. But I didn't realize he did all this off the field...very good story by 60 Minutes.
